Rollins has been tearing it up lately. .287, 101 runs scored, 11 HR, 59 RBIs and 27 stolen bases is pretty awesome for a SS.

Octavio Dotel is a waste of space too imo.

Jimmy Rollins however kicks ass...But Izturis does too...And i have them both on my fantasy teams

Exactly. Hampton hasn't lost in a while, and considering he started out so bad and now he's up to 11-9 I would say he's doing well. Jaret Wright is just unbelievable. Russ Ortiz (minus his last start) is doing very well. Thompson is doing well for what he's worth, and Paul Byrd is also pitching well. Chipper's hot as ever with 85 or so RBI's (and everyone knows he was doing piss all for the first half). Andruw has started to come to life. JD is the workhorse of the group having a career year. Furcal is hot as well. Giles can get it done and is very underated. Laroche is a good roleplayer, as is Charles Thomas, Eddie Perez, and Eli Marrero. Estrada is also a .320 hitter.

Throw in their bullpen with Cruz, Alfonseca, and Smoltz you have a pretty good team. Reitsma is decent as well. Not to mention the new guys they've tried out in Travis Smith, Roman Colon, and Jose Capellan who started today and had good stuff. They have a lot of good players, no superstars, just good players.

Big time joke there.

The batting could be what it comes down to. Both Boston and the Yankees have potentially great pitching staffs baring injury and they both have monster hitting line-ups. Minnesota have great pitching and defense, but they don't have the same kind of crushing attack that the Sox and Yanks do.

LOL again. Santana is the best pitcher in the majors but Santana-Radke is not even close to the best 1-2 combination in the AL. I'll take any combination of Mulder-Hudson-Zito-Harden or Martinez-Schilling any day of the week.

If they play the Red Sox they will get destroyed because both the A's and the Red Sox know that the Red Sox own them. I can only see them beating the Twins at this point.

I like them over the Twins, the 2 are very similar teams but Oakland has much more depth at pitching.

The Twins are fucked after Santana and Radke for starters, but Lohse and Silva are both capable of having a random ace game, and Mulholland has proven to that he can do some magical things on occasion this year. I don't know who 3 and 4 will be right now. Beyond that the Twins have the leading team ERA in the AL and a very strong bullpen with Romero, Rincon, Nathan, Crain, and company. When it comes down to it I still can't see the A's pitching coming though like they have to.

Yeah Zito has been rocky all season, regardless of run support. And Mulder hasn't been that great this second half despite the wins he's getting.

Zito has been 2002 Zito the past few starts. 7 innings of shutout 4 hit ball his last outing. Mulder is just in a slump, and he is showing signs of breaking out of it. Redman is horrible at home but he is like 7-3 with a 3.20 ERA or something on the road. Harden has been mediocre his last few outings but he has probably been the most consistent pitcher on the staff all year. And Hudson is Hudson. You gotta take the A's rotation right now over the Twins.

As far as hitting and defense I think the teams are very similarly built. They don't have any superstars or 40+ HR hitters but they have all-star quality players (Hunter, Chavez). They pride themselves on defense with a couple likely Gold Gloves (Hunter, Kotsay, maybe Chavez). They have a great young nucleus and rely alot on guys under 25 (Ford, Morneau, Crosby, Scutaro). I'd give the edge to the Twins in offense, because Ken Macha makes shitty lineups and the A's never hit with RISP, and the edge to the A's in defense.

Twins win bullpen by a landslide but that's not to say Oakland's is bad.

I'm always shocked when i see Ichiro had an 0-for. Though he so rarely strikes out you know he has probably put it in play and tried to beat it out
