I wouldn't describe it as "odd". I thought Orton winning was fine, and I thought the match itself was wonderfully booked. You guys are acting as if he grabbed the briefcase and there was utter silence. He got a pop when he pulled it down. Nothing like as if Bryan had grabbed it, sure, but fine pop and ending yo an overall highly entertaining show in my opinion.

It was just a really odd show. Good for the most part but sending everyone home with a shitty payoff that got no crowd reaction was pretty ridiculous. Any other person winning the match would've made sense.

And I don't think we really thought the PPV was bad as a whole. Lots of good stuff but with Cena winning by draping his arms over Henry's face, a very bland IC title match, a pretty weird Ryback match, and Randy Boreton winning the main event... It left me feeling confused. The crowd seriously just died after the Orton fiasco. You don't want your crowd worrying about traffic half a second after the main event. Just nobody cared at all.

I actually liked the Ryback match, including the finish. Other than the finish, I think we all liked the Cena/Henry match. Other than the finish and shitting on RVD, I think we all liked the main event.

The problem is just that there was so much rant to get through, we didn't really have enough time to talk about what we liked. That's something we should try to balance better in the future.

I thought the IC Title match was solid, if a little short. My problem is them booking it in a filler role as opposed to a marquee match. I also enjoyed Jericho/Ryback. As for this Orton no-pop business, what are you guys on about? Again, it wasn't second coming of Steve Austin but it was a fine pop for a crowd that had been popping for the last 3+ hours and just saw disputably the most over guy in the match get betrayed by his "best friend" moments earlier.

Well if they absolutely had to have orton win the briefcase I think it was better to end with that match rather then end with Cena's clean victory over Henry.

But if Vince wanted Orton to walk out with that briefcase (a bit dull) and Cena to beat Henry cleanly (duller) I am glad they ended the show how they did.

I kinda think they want someone to cash in and lose again, Orton would be perfect for that.

Like I said on the podcast. Compare Orton's reaction after winning MitB with just Daniel Bryan's ENTRANCE. There's no comparison. And Randy Orton is a face, by the way. Just nobody even remotely cares about him at all. Cena's promo on RAW when he mentions facing Orton was met with Luke warm boos. And I remind you, he's a face.

They could've just done anything else and it would've worked perfectly.

I do not disagree with you there, DB gets greater reactions than Orton. perhaps he should have won the match but it doesn't matter since he wasn't made to look weak in the match and he is booked in the title match with Cena at SS. (IMO DB should win that match)

I don't think Orton should win title matches or much at all against maineventers I just think it was better for them to put Orton winning after Cena winning because ending it on that would have been worse.

Normally the guy manages to get reactions here and there, but if they push somebody and the crowd goes dead, that's a bad sign.

Orton does need the briefcase, he needs SOMETHING. He's been stagnant since early 2012. This gives some level of interest to him as long as he's power walking around with the case. How many crowds have gone home disappointed because Cena prevailed against the odds? Too many to count. You can't mortgage whatever long term plans you have laid out because the last image people have might not be their perfect scenario.

I don't like Orton that much, so damn you guys for making me defend him.

Randy Orton is a failed experiment and it drives me nuts that they keep on going with him like something is going to change. They gave him the ball on several occasions and he has dropped it every single time. Between him having all of the wellness violations and him being apart of the worst WM main event match in recent memory with Triple H, what is the upside of the guy? He can't cut a promo in less than 10 minutes because he drawls every word out, he's a total fuckhead that's gotten several people fired, he can't stop doing drugs apparently, he's completely dependent on rest holds in 100% of his matches, and he's getting little crowd reaction as of late as a face. What is it that I'm missing with this guy?

I think everyone has just been conditioned to believe he's going to be something big. He's had his opportunities and he has squandered all of them. Time to move on.

Daniel Bryan, RVD, Sheamus, and CM Punk are MUCH BETTER long term solutions than Randy Orton. Infinitely better. What is in the longterm plan for Randy Orton? A horrible WM main event again? A wellness violation? Him getting somebody fired?

And I don't really think Orton needs the briefcase at all, as he's an established star. They could bring him into the main event at any time and nobody would really dispute it. It's kind of like the Kane and Big Show thing. No matter how much they are gone or how much they lose, they can be brought into the main event at any time and still be a threat. If Bryan had the briefcase, along with this meteoric rise he's having, it would be perfect. It would keep this Bryan excitement going for a long time instead of having him just job to Cena at SS and killing it all.

Again, those are all guys that don't need the briefcase. What would CM Punk need with the briefcase? He's the top guy. Bryan's so hot right now, he doesn't need it either. RVD has a ton of buzz right now and he just returned, so he doesn't need it either. Orton's character needed a boost and this makes sense if we're going to talk about who has the most to gain out of winning that match (outside of Christian).

No, he doesn't. He's a former multiple time champion. You don't need a reason for a title shot when you are multiple time champion. You just don't. And even if nobody really needed the briefcase, why would you go with the most boring, risky option? He's proven he can't cut it in the main event of WM when everything is circled around him. He's proven that he can't "say no" to drugs. And he's proven to be a huge fucking asshole to guys in the locker room by getting them fired. What is the upside?
