Is this the way it works? You would think there'd be something in place where the player couldn't serve his suspension while he's on the DL and not able to play anyway.

Brian Roberts is going to apparently miss "a majority" of the season with the back injury and Felix Pie is going to miss 3 months as well with his shoulder injury.

I guess he failed the test in spring training so seems likely he was trying to speed up his rehab during the offseason.

I actually think he has to wait until he's off the DL to serve the 50 game suspension. I know Cliff Lee was supposed to serve his 5 game suspension when he got off the DL (think he got it overturned though).

Ah, just read that his suspension begins on April 21. Pretty huge loophole there then. So if suspended for throwing at a batter or something like that you have to wait until you're off the DL to serve the suspension but if you fail a drug test you can serve it while you're still DLed? Kinda weak.

The Orioles are awful. I think they're trying to be worse than the 03 Tigers, if not even worse than that.

The Tigers started 2-18 through 20 games, the Os are 2-13, with 6 of their next 7 games vs Boston and NY and Felix Hernandez tomorrow.

Big Pelf looked awesome again. 3 great starts and a save to start the new campaign. Went ahead and picked him up in every fantasy league. Hope he keeps it up.

lol @ Tatis belting a 2-run HR in the 8th to make it 4-0 Mets and taking away the save chance for K-Rod. Mike Pelfrey remains the team leader in saves for another night.

Hope Igarashi is okay. Dude's been money so far this year and seemed to have earned the 8th inning job.

He has essentially been the Braves' motivation all season. Every time he hits the dugout, I get the feeling that even Chipper feels like he has to perform better to match this guy's intensity.

I haven't seen many guys fly around the bases like Heyward did last night on his home run. And that's the second bottom of the 9th, two out home run he's hit already this year, though the first didn't end up meaning anything. He was 1-4 last night, but nobody cares because he brings it every at-bat. And two nights before he won the game for the Braves. I'm just not sure what else you can ask for a rookie in the first 15 games of the season.

And the funny thing is that all Braves fans were talking about before the season started was whether keeping Heyward in Gwinnett for two months would really have an effect on the Braves season.

But he answered that question almost immeadiately.
