Yep. DeeJ confirmed it, legendary weapons can't be upgraded for Taken King.

I'll get it. Don't think it'll be obsolete though. The exotics may be the only things that can be ascended in Year 2. Bungies says not to break anything down until their stream reveals next week.

For PvP. And honestly it's still a so-so option for PvE since my exotic primaries are the workhorses in almost every scenario. I got the Gally basically out of casual interest and boredom. This is the first I fired up Destiny in some time since diving into Titanfall and Splatoon more. And it probably won't keep me for that long since I'm having loads more fun with Titans and Squid mutants.

Probably won't play regularly until Taken King drops, and then that's a month before Halo 5. Taken King needs to blow my mind if it wants me to log in as many hours as Year 1.

According to Bungie, the different in-game currency will be getting merged into a single currency called "Legendary Marks" as part of the upcoming Taken King DLC pack and Year Two support plans.

The weekly limit on the amount of money earned per week is also getting dropped but not the amount that can be hold at any one time.

The stream today was alright. Lots of streamlining, lots more to do on a daily basis, vendors are just better, more RPG like, doubled vault space, and a fairly nice exotic upgrade system.

Here's a question: why do some exotics get year 2 bumps, but others dont? Simply "because Bungie said so"? They cherry pick what they want to promote and kill, for no rhyme or reason.

Guys have speculated that sense the Year 2 upgrades literally change the weapons perks (almost a new exotic, in one case a new paintjob), they simply haven't come up with Year 2 adjustments for the rest and they will eventually. It's not just upping the damage.

It would be odd if some exotics were just left out in the cold for arbitrary reasons, though.

These are the reasons I am not going to get Taken King. Its one thing to tweak and balance, but its an entirely different thing to leave some guns unable to be upgraded "just because".

Bungie has been leaving a bad taste in my mouth the way they constantly change the currency, the leveling up methods, and now this. Glad I didnt grind like many of my friends did.

Bungie also revealed the gifts for Year One VIP members in the form of a DLC pack called "Founder’s Fortune Pack."

Well the raid is coming. People will be hitting lvl40 and/or doing the new crop of dailies in the meantime.

There's a ton of shit worth talking about with Destiny than a delayed raid. It happened before and it wasn't the end of the world. Also remember Myamoto's quote regarding delayed things.

Can't start the Raids until you're 40 now. And people will be playing nonstop and should take them a full day to pull it off.

But, since' there's "a lot more stuff" to do in Taken King, I don't think people will complain.

We're only thinking about the more traditional progression in terms of the 1-20 grind before. I have to imagine the xp between levels won't be as generous now that it's more traditional now. The insomnia types will hit it maybe in a week (depending on where they're starting from), but most people especially newbies will not see 40 so quickly.

What gets me is how much they HYPED the fucking raid, even going as far as streaming bits of it, right? Then just to be like "oh btw, wont be in that $40 or $60 package youre buying...but itll come down the road! WE PROMISE!"

And a bunch of shit as in what? Seriously, I hear this from people, but what are we fucking talking about here...4-5 story missions youll play a total of three times each for your characters, then a couple extra strikes?

For those with a PS3 or Xbox 360 that has a hard drive in the 20GB or less range, Activision is giving away free 3S GB USB hard drives to allow the upcoming expansion pack to be playable.

Only requirement is you have to be an existing and active player in the game to qualify for it. Requests have to be made before Taken King arrives in order to be eligible as well.
