I know its still early, but I really would like us to start winning soon, 6.5 games back is not a nice place to be at any point in the season.

Watch out Stima, the A's are the best team ever (even though they aren't clutch).

Anyway, the Yankees have been screwed for a while because they rely too much on free agency. You can plug holes and make some improvements with it (which the Yankees have done on offense), but the core of your team has to be brought up, or at least with your team for a while. Wang is a start and it looks like there are a few young guys, but everything is out of order. Prime bats, young pitchers. I'm sure the Yanks will end up trading some future for a starter too, which just adds to it.

Yeah, so ridiculous. Did they say anything about how serious it is or anything?

You have to start wondering about the new conditioning coach. I've never seen so many hamstring pulls and the like in one month. Not sure what happened with Hughes but just saying.

Glad to see AJ Burnett proved himself tonight. God. All the talent and potential. But you know what? As hard as he throws, that 96-98 mph fastball has so little movement. His other pitches just don't get thrown enough for strikes.

Well, we have Villone anyway in the minors so he could be brought up if needed. Not sure how he is doing or anything though.

As for Hughes, its a hamstring thing. Noone has really said an idea on the time he'll be out, but nobody seemed too optimistic about him being back soon. Its crazy though, never saw so many pitchers go down in one month, and having so many with the same injury.
