They are talking about moving Jamaal Anderson to Tackle beside Peria Jerry. How fucking awesome would that be.

They talked about that last year with Charles Grant.. We got DE Bobby McCray from JAX and DT Sed Ellis in the draft.. The rumors were flying all last summer in in training camp that on 3rd and long and in passing situations, they would drop Grant down to DT with Ellis and have Will Smith and McCray on the ends.. Kinda like what the Giants had done to the Pats in the superbowl..

Never happened once, all season.. Not one single time..

AFC West went from bad to worse, haha wtf are they thinking in Denver and Oakland? Even the Chargers draft an outside backer rather than inside one. And the Chiefs seem like they did ok, but Jackson was kind of a reach but they now don't even have Gonzales for Fat Cassel's security blanket. 8-8 wins that division.

Yeah you're right. It was a fluke. I mean its not like Roddy or Turner are that good. Or Harry Douglas is going to be a serviceable slot wideout. Or Jenkins is going to be that perfect complement number 2. Or Matt Ryan is going to be a top 10 QB in the league.

Plus add in that senior citizen Tony Gonzalez to the mold. I'm expecting a step backwards this year.

Eagles acquire Ellis Hobbs for two 5th round draft choices. Don't know if its this year's draft or next year's.

Ok, now i got a question, and i hope someone can answer it.

I do love football, but know veruy little about some aspects of it, so i was wondering what the heck it means for the team, and the player involved when a team puts the "Franchise tag" on a player.

From Wikipedia:

Quote:
In the National Football League, the franchise tag is a designation a team may apply to a player scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent. The tag binds the player to the team for one year if certain conditions are met. Each team has access each year to only one franchise tag (of either the exclusive or non-exclusive forms) or one transition tag. As a result, each team may only designate one player each year as that team's franchise player.
Usually reserved for players of great skill or of high importance to the team, a franchise tag allows a team's manager the privilege of strategically retaining valuable free-agent players while seeking talent through the NFL draft or other acquisitions without exceeding the League's salary cap.
If the designated franchise player elects to play for the team that designated him with the franchise tag, and does not negotiate a contract with another team his one year salary is guaranteed.
If a club withdraws their offered contract the player immediately reverts to an unrestricted free agent.

Damn, played against 2 kids in HS that signed as undrafted FA's; Chris Pizzotti who signed with the Jets & Bobby Abare who signed with the Chiefs.

Also Ellis Hobbs is not that good so I'm totally fine w/ him leaving. Pats secondary was awful last year so I'm fine with a little bit of an overhaul. All this talk about him returning kicks but he got so many opportunities because he stayed getting burnt for touchdowns.

To Hobbs' credit though, he always played hurt and his toughness really can't be questioned. It's not really his fault he was thrust into the role of #1 corner last year, which he definitely isn't. He was the #2 corner for an entire season on a team that was one TD drive away from going 19-0, so you gotta take that into consideration

No, you don't Jesus. This dude was the number two corner in an aging secondary who had a top 10 front seven in front of him. He also had a record setting Quarterback AND Receiver who consistently put up 28 points in a year when they were one TD Drive away from going 19-0.

For that matter, who gave up that one touchdown???

Damn.

I'm fairly certain Asante Samuel was covering Burress and Samuel slipped on the play when Burress caught the game winner.

Nah it was definitely Ellis Hobbs.

Mr. Get Paid himself Asanute Samuel could have ended the game earlier though when Eli threw him the ball but he decided to drop it

Exactly, that late in the game, they were in a zone blitz. Hobbs was supposed to cover that third of the field. He choked, he slipped.

In a cover 3, it is his responsibility to handle the deepest threat in his third of the field. The slant isn't his responsibility. Plaxico was. If I'm not mistaken Burress didn't catch a 5 yard strike, it was a 25 yard stirke. You give up the short stuff to prevent the touchdown bombs.

I reiterate, he choked, blew the coverage, and he slipped trying to make up for his fuck up. Poor discipline to not trust the Linebackers.
