People shouldn't underestimate Ghana. Just ask the Czechs and Yanks!

From what i saw of the Ghana/US game the Ghanaians were just a hell of a lot more confident, they looked far better on the ball and they put in more effort, in the 93rd minute they were still chasing down every ball and pressing ahead to try and score another. The US looked disjointed all the way through.

Ghana had nothing to lose. They just came off the right side of the biggest upset of the tournament, it is there first time in the World Cup.... and they knew that they were playing a very desperate team.

A win or tie got them in. They did just enough not to lose today.

And now I hope that Brazil fucking squashes them.

Actually one thing you said was true, Ghana had nothing to lose, but in reality neither did the US, and them getting to the 1/4 final was as much an 'upset' as Ghana beating the Czechs and in a group with Italy and the Czech rep they weren't expected to qualify, yet they floundered in every game!

Give the Ghanaians some credit and stop being a sore loser Joey!

I'll be ok once the inital shock of the Americans falling flat on their faces wears off. I think I'm might actual pull for Ghana to take care of Brazil in the knock-outs.

There is still alot of good soccer to be played. England is going to be a tough team to beat once they get their shit together...

So glad I didn't root for the US. What a fucking horrible show that was. Donovan has got to be one of the most overrated players I've ever heard of. Why the hell was this team hyped up so much? America is lightyears behind the European teams. They need a foreign coach. Arena has had his day in the sun.

So now that the US is out, only a few people in this country will watch another soccer game until 2010.

I'm technically half English. My mother's English, and the whole of my Mum's side are English. But I was born, and brought up in Wales, and I would never EVER root for England. I'm Welsh, not British, and I'd only ever support my heritage. And that's the way it should be. I don't get Welsh and Scottish people supporting England in the World Cup just because Wales and Scotland didn't qualify. It's ludicrous.

Very nervy start for us, conceded to an unstoppable free kick in the second minute and we got rattled. But once we started going forward, we've owned this game and fully deserved Moore's equaliser. Croatia have already started pushing men forward so there's gaping holes everywhere. Neill and Emerton have both been allowed huge solo runs. Hopefully we can make it really emphatic 'cos that's what the kiddies like to see.

For whatever reason, Kalac got the start ahead of Schwarzer. It better have been because Schwarzer couldn't play because Kalac simply isn't up to it. He's looked nervy every time he's had the ball, and very nearly spilled a corner into the goal. Viduka also blatantly needs a better touch.
