No idea, he has actually been much better against righties the past two years I think (definitely this year). This is the type of thing Torre has to use him for, not bringing him in to face Ortiz/lefties because he obviously sucks in those situations.

LMFAO watch sportscenter, the highlights of the mets game. Someone hit a 2 run home run, and the announcer goes, A 2 RUN HOMO. Pretty rofl

Good game from Wang. Had a perfect game through 7 1/3 before a home run ended that and the no-hitter. Ended up going 8 innings and 2 hits. We really needed a game like this from a starter.

Tavarez with another strong outing last night, 6 IP with 2 ER

I am liking him as a starter a lot more then as a reliever, will be interesting when they bring up Lester. I mean he hasn't be outstanding as a starter, but he is so awful in the pen I don't know what they are going to do. Outside of one bad game against the Jays he hasn't pitched bad really, some games a lot better then others but he's been serviceable. There is no guarantee that Lester will be any better when he first gets called up.

Got Schilling going today, hopefully they'll be able to pick up the W.

The Jays look uninspired this year. Holy cow. I just want them to compete. Of course I want them to win it all, but Jesus at least put effort in it. They seem down, down because of the injuries they've had to so many regulars.
Also, Lind looks good. They were trying to trade Rios earlier in the spring to get another starter but couldn't get any bites. The plan was to replace Rios with Lind. I knew the guy was a top prospect, but wow. He's looking MLB ready already. Hard to put this guy back on the bench once Johnson gets healthy.
I see Rios being moved. He's a 'bigger' name than Johnson or Lind, so he's got more trade value. Too bad if I'm right, because I really like his abilities too. Kinda like when they traded the O-Dog. (my Jays favourite) he was a great player, but it was needed to move him for Glauss.

PS, The O-Dog still rules. He's gonna hit 15-20 HRs this year.

Clemens is back. What a relief.

In the next few weeks, I wouldn't be surprised if we get rid of Pavano. We'll probably move Igawa into the bullpen as a reliver. Unless he's gonna be interchangeable with Phil Hughes

Clemens is getting paid $28 million to pitch for less than 5 months. No one can tool on the Red Sox anymore about Dice-K.

28 million but I'm pretty sure its 18-19 million considering how long he really will pitch. Not trying to make excuses, because it still is a shitload of money for 4 months.

I really don't see how you could tool on the Red Sox for that move though, because the return on investment is going to be huge. Even if he just pitches average or whatever all the merchandising, advertising etc will be huge.

If this Clemens move turns their season around, then it'll be worth it - I personally don't see that happening though

It will happen. Our pitching is getting healthy (something it has not been all year and it still isn't completely) and we're getting the boost of one of the greatest pitchers of all time. The pen will rest more and improve. The bats are there and the pitching has been on its way back. We've had 2 almost no-hitters in a week.

The Yankees have done exactly what they need to do to compete at this point. At the VERY least, Clemens will give us innings and wins. He has the potential to dominate.

I missed todays Jays game, but it looks like Burnett pitched a decent game... for a loss.

Shocked.

I caught most of the Phillies/Giants game and most of the Braves/Dodgers game. Both were pretty good. Mind you I really like watching baseball, so almost any game is going to be good to me. Yeah. Baseball rules.
