Yo earlier today I went into the fifth prestige or whatever and got to level eight, and I just turned on the game again and I am back at level 55 of the fourth prestige with like 900 exp to go. What the hell?

One thing WaW did right was adding rewards for prestige. Have absolutely no desire to do it in COD 4.

Finally beat GTA 4, so my time away from street fighter will prolly be in this and WaW.

What's odd is that I prefer to prestige in MW over WAW. I still haven't hit level 65 in WAW and honestly don't know if I ever will. The 10 extra levels in WAW feel like a lot, feels like I'm going way too long between new perks and weapons. I feel like I level up at a pretty steady clip in MW, and there's always new stuff to play with.

I never really got into online on this, fucking love the game, I'm nowhere near terrible yet I would get pretty much destroyed online. Is it just most people are better than me/more used to it or am I missing something? I wanna play some variety of team game and not die every time I breathe

My high-kill games were games where I only moved to find a new position to hold and proxy-frag. Going with personal experience.

Camping for some silly reason has negative connotations so I'll just say 'strategic positioning'.

Because camping doesn't take skill. Half the kills you get from camping are from behind as people run by you somewhere. That's the point of camping..

It's lame, and there's a -reason- it has negative connotation.

If you're good, you don't need to camp. The ONLY time camping becomes a legitimate tactic is in a team-based OBJECTIVE game. Because then, you're supposed to be more worried about the objective than you are with your kill/death ratio. If you're meant to defend an area, then by all means, defend that area. But in kill-based games, camping is stupid.

What are we talking about when you are talking about camping? Are you talking about staying in one little corner for most of the game? Or are you talking about running and stopping at a spot for three seconds or so, and then moving on to the next one? Because the latter is not a negative at all. It's just smart.

You have to be really good at shooters (and pretty lucky too) to make the constant movement thing work for you. And frankly, I've found that method to be kind of redundant and mindless anyway. Much more fun to play the run to cover game, imo.

I am talking about sitting in a little corner for lengthy periods of time.. I am not saying you should always be out in the open. Finding cover for a few seconds is fine, and necessary to be able to survive.

But sitting in a room waiting for people to run by or something is lame.

Agreed. Although with sniping, it's kind of nessecary. Even then, a good sniper will move to a different spot after a couple kills.

Nah I am terrible at shooting games this is literally the only one I've played for more than a few gos since Goldeneye or something on the N64 and I'm good at this. Theres a much smaller learning curve than most games because its very well balanced just play around a bit once you'll get decent

CoD4 is a somewhat realistic shooter. In a shootout: I want to put bullets in you, while not getting shot.

Camping is just plain smart. I've seen the complaints on Halo forums and such and I'm sorry - camping is a legit tactic. So's playing the clock, and playing against over-aggression. Learning how to clear a room properly counters a camping position but most people don't take shooters to that degree. I do.

Nobody moves as a team, clears rooms, flank positions, counter-flank opposition, relay intel, or sweep exteriors - so don't tell me how camping's lame when it's the one tactic in these shooting games that's easiest to counter as oppose to advance team gunplay strats. I don't wanna hear it.

No camper is going to get the kill count that a really good run-and-gun player will.

30+ kills doesn't happen while staying in one spot the whole game, unless you get really really lucky, and the other team is really really dumb.

Who says to stay in the same spot the whole time? Unless the other is really that stupid, then yeah, why move at all. lol

I'm just saying playing smart shouldn't get such a bad vibe. My mini-rant was aimed at those who detour camping as a punk-move. Sick of hearing it. Whether it wins matches is another argument, but it's a legit, smart tactic.

Me and Req already established that what you are talking about isn't camping, just smart play. The "stay in one spot all game" type of campers are the ones people bitch about. Even then, there is no point bitching about it because as I said, campers don't get a lot of kills against even average skilled players.
