People were about to care in 2004 when he completely served Dawn Marie and Miss Jackie their ho papers. But the WWE never followed up on it. Charlie the Pimp would have equated to ratings.

People didn't care about Bradshaw either.

If done right he could do so well. He needs to start at the bottom, maybe pick up a winning streak, and eventually catch the eye of Kurt Angle who says he's glad to see him doing so well. They could team up for a few months, being best buddies etc, Haas's streak still in tact. Then, I dunno, Angle could lose one week to someone credible like Joe, then next week Haas could beat Joe clean and hints of Angle's jealousy could begin. Then in some sort of cluster match for a title shot including both Haas and Angle, Haas wins and there's more signs of frustration from Angle. The next week on iMPACT (don't wanna rush him into headlining PPVs) Haas gets double crossed by an interfering Kurt Angle, igniting a lengthy feud that'd really put Haas on the map.

I'm not even saying put a world title on Haas. Just use him properly, give him a push and see what happens.

A fresh gimmick maybe would be needed though unless the perfect slow build was done. Cos like Gertner said, plenty of casual fans would not take Haas credible as a main-eventer, some still even struggle taking Edge seriously!

They're not really the same thing. Dean Malenko was a sleazy guy meant to get embarrassed and such. He jobbed to Lita (with Matt Hardy's aid, but still). Charlie Haas looked awesome.

Besides, Dean Malenko still has a job with the WWE to this day, does he not?

I can't find it anywhere, but does anyone remember when The World's Greatest Tag Team sung "APA is Crap?" I don't care what anyone says, I find Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas entertaining. You gotta love that "Haas = Pimp" sign at Armageddon, too.
