I'll give Hardy insane props for not tapping...

I seriously think GSP was too nice though... Not in the armbar, but in the Kimura. It seems like he had it on, he wrenched it, and when Hardy didn't tap, he sort of had this "WTF" look on his face, but he stopped wrenching it. I mean, in a way, I can respect not wanting to seriously injure your opponent, as opposed to someone like Mir, who would have just broke his arm.

What I find incredible is the after-fight interview.

"I made stupid technical mistakes, so I will watch the tape with my coach and get better".

I know I'm not an expert, but he has to be really dedicated to find a fault when he dominated like that.

And props to Hardy for being a tough mofo. Thought he would tap out like three times.

I'm not sure it will happen that quickly. I think St. Pierre would have to have a tune up fight at Middle weight. Seriously, I think St. Pierre would probably be fighting at 204.9 pounds his whole career at middleweight.

I liked Hardy's attitude after the fight but his fight itself did nothing for me to become a fan of his. The dude got beat up and offered NOTHING. He landed maybe 1 punch and survived submissions and bad positions. I think Georges is upset because he let Hardy escape countless bad positions.

Props to Hardy for surviving 25 minutes, but all he did was get beat up for 24 minutes.

Also, I don't know what makes that a "boring" fight. Sure it wasn't the stand up and bang war that we all love, but man, GSP dominating, and imposing his will was a thing of beauty. He could've raped Hardy for 25 minutes and Hardy couldn't stop it.

I agree but he did look tough for hanging in. But he got shut out in a performance GSP wasn't even close to be happy with. IMO he's a mid level guy and will never be more than that.

People also forget that GSP is a deadly striker too, been taking Karate his whole life. He started as striker, hard to beleive.

You don't see much of his stand up but he seems a much better striker with every fight but one lucky shot will rock him and that's your opening to take him down. Being a big fan of his it was hard to see the clip of him getting worked by Serra back then just because of one good shot.

I was watching the fight with a huge Dan Hardy fan and he was pissed the entire fight. He kept calling GSP a pussy and a faggot for taking him down all the time. He got pissed when I said:

"It's Hardy's fault the fight keeps going to the ground. Learn some take down defense then talk shit and fight GSP. Don't fight GSP and then learn takedown defense."

Hardy has a huge heart. I didn't think much of the guy before the fight but I earned a lot of respect for him and his ability to take a beating. He wasn't ready for GSP, and may never be. No one in the welterweight divison is ready for GSP.

I hope Hardy's next fight is against Koscheck. Koscheck should beat Hardy the same way GSP did (albeit not as dominant) but Koscheck isn't as disaplined as GSP and would have the hubris to stand with Hardy.

On one hand, I understand George St. Pierre’s respect for his opponent in not wanting to break his arm. On the other hand, what if they had gotten stood up and Dan Hardy caught and floored him with a right hand? It might be beneficial for GSP to have that incident under his belt.

As for his style, I have no problem with it. A record with 4 successful title defenses speaks for itself, but to the tools that moan because he isn’t standing and banging: step in the cage and see how brave you are.

I’d love to see his next fight at 185 (August), while the 170 contenders sort themselves out. Silva/GSP for the Middleweight title at UFC 117?

George St. Pierre is the only one who could get a fight out of Anderson Silva, so it’s the only superfight left to worry about, assuming Fedor stays out of the UFC.
