When Griffey broke into the league, I was living in Langley, BC (outside of Vancouver) we'd go down and see Mariner's games when the Jays where in Seattle. Junior was a treat to watch. He had a subtle cocky swagger to him when he came up that most people probably didn't know about.

Bonds didn't hit home runs because of steroids. He had tremendous numbers before he started juicing. Bonds was able to recover more quickly during a time that he was aging and not as able to be an everyday player despite his numbers at the plate being stellar. You'd be a fool not to with everyone else gaining the competitive edge over you because of performance enhancing products. Bonds earned every home run he hit.

But because this thread is about Griffey, it goes to show that he probably is the greatest player to walk the planet because he had the competitive edge over players on performance enhancing drugs early in his career. And it was his natural ability. He didn't need help recovering, so he could play every day at his top level. Later in his career when he couldn't stay off the DL he could have used some help. But he's above that.

It's also never been proven that Bonds was on any performance enhancing product and if he was, that he abused them.

Not much since UD over-produced his card by the millions and also started the trend of cards loosing value unless it was some ultra-rare expensive card to buy.

His rookie card is from 1989 and the funny part of the whole story is how Topps didn't feel like he would be a "big" name to include in the 1989 MLB Topps set while UD had a feeling he would be the next great hitter and over produced his rookie card.

OH yeah, not saying it in a bad way, but many of you may not have had a chance to have seen it way back in the day.

LOL, I remember Sparky Anderson once was a little pissed at his swagger. But even Sparky said, he can afford to be cocky, but he has to watch that fine line where he might take it too far. (or words similar to that effect)
