At this point they just want anyone to tune in. I don't think they are thinking far enough ahead to worry about whether they piss them off or not.
They should promise free Ice Cream if it means getting people to watch Impact now. Honestly, interest was never very high, but ever since the move back to thursdays with their tail between their legs, it just seems like they've crawled under the porch to die.

Agreed. I watched a majority of the first Monday night in Jan when Bret/Orton weren't on RAW. I would occasionally tune in when they were ORIGINALLY on Thursdays and Mondays and every so often would be entertained/interested by something. Slowly though, the Monday night shows went down hill and I stopped watching altogther. I know I haven't watched AT ALL since they moved BACK to Thursdays.

It goes back to my building suspense thread. Instead of thinking of the now, they should be building to a month, two months, six months, a year from now. If done right, they would gradually increase viewership purely on a steady increase of awesomeness.

Instead it's "NOW NOW NOW WE NEED TO DO THIS THIS THIS THIS AND THIS WITHIN THE NEXT TWO HOURS" when, realistically, it should be spread out over a month.

If I may expand apon this thought. Also, you know what a real surprise is? Not even telling me there is going to be a surprise.

Hearing "WAIT TILL YOU SEE THIS SHOCKING TURN OF EVENTS AT SLAMFEST 2010, IT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND," sets up a sense of this needs to be huge and game changing, and by this point, nothing they can do short of the immossible like bringing out HHH and Shane McMahon would do that, or killing a guy.

They need to learn from nWo, instead of trying to copy nWo. You know what made nWo great? One day Scott Hall just shows up and says "You know who I am, but you don't know why I'm here," then declares war on WCW. That is a real surprise.

Honestly, I was watching it more on Mondays than I am now. Though that was more because I was in chat and it was something to talk about than the show being good.

They call it "we're going to try to compete with WWE for no real reason".

Let's face it, for at least the past four years they've been trying to compete with WWE. Instead of worrying about what WWE is doing they should look at themselves and try to better their own product.

The biggest mistake was when they shifted from the more indy-style wrestling to more full-on Sports Entertainment. That's the mistake that's the root of all of TNA's problems. Not Hogan, not Bischoff, not Russo, but the direction of the company as a whole.

Hell TNA debuted Angle right. He just came out and head butted Samoa Joe. That is a debut. When you hype a debut, it is almost always lack luster.

Yes they have.

The internet is ruining TNA. But not in a "the IWC ruined wrestling" way but in a "TNA is ruining themselves by being online" way.

TNA is an example in how you DON'T take a company online and integrate the community into the business.

WWE got it right. TNA are fucking idiots.

Honestly, TNA has to learn how to keep kayfabe properly. WWE has done it when it comes to the internet. Kayfabe is alive and well in the WWE Universe. There's enough "just inside the circle" integration to make it seem like they're open about everything when in reality it's like it's a natural modern day extension of kayfabe.

TNA needs to learn to shut the fuck up and that sometimes fan involvement and social media are bad for your company. They're too transparent and rely on word of mouth in the wrong way.

TNA should just make a reality/comedy show about TNA. I would be more interested in watching the booking team trying to prepare for the next show then the show itself

TNA usually delivers when they have tease a big announcement except the few times where the surprise was the announcement of a timeslot change. I doubt this will be any sort of surprise that will change TNA forever, but it still has the potential of at least being a major announcement/surprise. I doubt it's Benjamin or Mickie James or anyone like that because they can't really tease that as changing TNA forever.

The reason TNA keeps promoting their "big surprises" is that they want the ratings/ppv buys, instead of one person telling his friend "Man, you should have seen TNA this week - they did blah blah. Said friend if he's interested then goes to youtube and watches it, but TNA still missed their chance at getting ratings off the event.

Yes, I know that if the friend is impressed enough, he might start tuning in next week, but TNA apparently isn't thinking down this road.
