He keeps talking shit on twitter about Wrestling sucking ass now, PG not suiting him, the bad backstage atmosphere, blaming his previous issues on the politics behind the curtains etc.

It's not like he had a Ric Flair like career and then got shat on by WWE. He was elevated to the ME within a year or so of his debut, elevated single handedly by Triple H, hung out for about three/four years having very average matches (The only reason people dont piss on his wrestling ability is because we were all distracted by John Cena) and then he quits because he had his money made.

Without the WWE that he now hates so much, he would still be bouncing at lesbian dance clubs peering through the glass to see his mum gobbling up a mouthful of minge. All this on top of the fact that he's admitted he'd like one final paycheck. . .err match in WWE.

Well, he's absolutely correct for the most part. He's said a number of times that he originally signed up to do what Stone Cold and The Rock did in the 90's. He didn't sign up to do what John Cena does now. And the differences between those two things is pretty astounding.

Absolutely correct. BUT, was there an attitude era before Austin and The Rock? They helped create it. Batista could have helped do that. The differences between those two (Batista and Austin) is pretty astounding

Batista is extremely underrated by smark fans though. If you don't think so, go watch a Mason Ryan match and then compare the two.

And Batista can only help create something that the writers and Vince want created. He was just along for the ride for the most part.

Well, that's a little silly. I brought up Mason Ryan as he is often compared to Batista. However, if you see them both perform, you'll find very quickly that it takes alot more than just being a huge jacked up guy to be successful. Batista actually has a bit of athleticism/charisma and puts the other big goof to shame.

Well, no. But you're comparing apples and oranges. The time periods were completely different. Stone Cold rose to fame when wrestling was about to go bankrupt and Batista rose to fame when wrestling was extremely popular. Also, you've proven that Batista isn't Stone Cold Steve Austin but I don't think that anybody ever said that he was. That doesn't mean that he wasn't good. VERY FEW created a buzz like Austin did. Not Shawn, not Taker, not Triple H, not Roddy, not Dibiase... and those guys are all Hall of Famers. It takes more than being incredible. It takes the right time, the right business climate, the right storyline, the right content, ect.

Also, Batista was in an era where you weren't allowed to do alot of what got guys in the attitude era popular in the first place.

Yeah but my point was that before Austin and Rock shot to fame, there was no attitude era. They were still working in the child friendly almost cartoonish world with Clowns, Dentists etc. Austin's character started the attitude era movement. If Batista wanted to go in that vain then he had a great chance because the 'attitude era' was well established and the audience was already there for him to play with. Stone Cold made such a bang with 'Austin 3:16' that he helped change the WWF audience to TV-14. Im not saying Batista sucked because he couldn't emulate Stone Cold, i just think its rich that he blames PG when he was already in the WWE before the Pg rating came in and therefore had his chance to make his mark. He didnt however. He was an average wrestler, quite decent for a guy his size, but his mic work was sub par and only picked up when it was too late.

Right, but even if he was a silver-tongued devil... things are loads different now than they were in 1996. Aside from the occasional exception (like last night with Punk), promos are generally extremely scripted and don't allow for a ton of creativity. Don't get me wrong, I'm not arguing that Batista could've ever done what Austin did but he wasn't much in the same position to do so either. And neither is anybody really today.

The promo from Punk last night sets the wheels in motion to get back to the edgy 1997-200(whenever Cena stopped rapping) so i hope to hell they go with it. Did anyone hear Mark Henry shout ''you cant fire me'' or somethin along those lines after he destroyed Big Show? Maybe they are changing things up here. Not to sound like the classic ''Attitude Era is coming back'' dipshit but thats two seperate guys running around Raw and SD doing what they like.

It isnt related at all, i think it just popped out somewhere in the middle of this chat. Fuck it.
So if Dave comes back for one last match is it a nailed on certainty that it will be vs HHH? I wouldn't mind seeing them in HIAC one more time, their match in summer 2004(05?) was awesome
