wouldnt barrett and sheamus be the same situation, or is wales def part of england?(welch flag isnt part of the union jack like scotland and ireland,,,,)

I'd say Wade Barrett will be World Champion at some point. Mason Ryan, maybe. Regal, no.

Four countries comprise the United Kingdom: England, Scotland, Northern Island and Wales. Mason Ryan is from Wales, so he is British; Wade Barrett is from England, so he is British. Sheamus is from the Republic of Ireland, so he IS NOT BRITISH! Finlay, however, is from Northern Island, so he would be considered British.

So, if Barrett or Ryan won the World Title tomorrow, they could be considered the first British World Champion. Sheamus, in no way, shape or form, can be.

If Mason Ryan catches on, then I see no reason Ryan won't be a World Champion at some point. Personally, I feel that he is super green and should still be in developmental. But, if Ryan wins a World Title, then I'd say it would be at a time after Regal has long been retired. So, Ryan winning a World Title before Regal comes down entirely to whether or not Regal actually wins a World Title, in my opinion.

Also, I think Wade Barrett will win the World Title before Mason Ryan. So if it's not Regal becoming the first British World Champ, then I think it will be Barrett. Not sure who has a better chance out of McIntyre and Ryan, to be honest.

Except the WWE has given numerous shots to people in the past. Dolph Ziggler has been suspended for wellness violations before, and has since become (technically speaking) a World Champion. I believe Orton has been suspended before, too. An obvious case of many chances being given to a performer is Jeff Hardy.

Now, Regal may not ever make as much money as Jeff Hardy -- but he does carry the respect of people in positions of power within the company. Plus, when it comes to expanding in the UK, crowning a British World Champion is something the WWE must surely be interested in. To be honest, I think they will go with Wade Barrett being the first, since he's got a long career ahead of him, and calling him the "first-ever British World Champion" is a great way to hype him up as a big deal. My heart wants to see them go with Regal, though.

Mason Ryan is awful on the mic i'd much rather see McIntyre as a World Champ even though he's been somewhat of a jobber as of late eventually he will be the Chosen One again.

A title match would be great and a big possibility to have but don't see him ever having a title reign even if it was just for a symbolic reason.

Barrett has the best chance right now to become the 1st English champion but even he is about 1-2 years away from actually have a decent chance or push to the title. Probably would work the best if Sheamus is champion to give it a little of the Ireland-England dislike to the feud itself.
