Why do they say that Overeem having Testosterone of 14 men is unnatural or whatever? Maybe Overeem is that big and "manly" by nature, so if u compare gim with 14 average men, he can easily have 14 times the testesrone.

White: Against Overeem or not, dos Santos will defend UFC title

Ultimate Fighting Championship president Dana White said a heavyweight championship fight will take place as scheduled May 26 at the MGM Grand Garden with or without Alistair Overeem.

White said Thursday that Junior dos Santos will defend his title in the UFC 146 main event but that it's up to the Nevada Athletic Commission to determine whether Overeem will be the challenger.

Commission executive director Keith Kizer said the Dutch kickboxing champion can seek analysis of a second sample from his March 27 urine test.

Kizer said Wednesday that Overeem's first sample tested unacceptably high for testosterone and Overeem will need commission approval to fight dos Santos.

His representatives haven't responded to messages left through his Las Vegas lawyer, David Chesnoff.

Overeem knocked out Brock Lesnar in the first round of UFC 141 on Dec. 30 at the MGM Grand.

So if Mir is named his replacment I wonder who will replace him against Cain? I suppopse they can almost just grab anyone. It seems everytime there's a stacked card someone either gets injured or tests positive and gets taken out.

I think Mir is a bigger threat at this point than Overeem anyway

dunno, I think JDS would kill him

I'd honestly like to see Mark Hunt fight him. not so much because I think he's the best challenger or anything but he clearly doesn't need a long camp and mainly because of his concrete fists. if he can Johnny One Bomb him, it'd be pretty fun to watch

It's a pretty shitty situation for JDS. His fight is a little over a month away and he doesn't know who he's facing. Mir presents a different challenge than Overeem because of his jiu jitsu, which is an aspect of JDS's game we haven't seen tested. With Overeem, he knows it's going to be more about the stand up.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope that due to some miracle, Overeem is cleared to compete. I was really looking forward to this fight SO BAD. No one else can make up for Overeem.

Also, Mark Hunt is a huge mistake.. Sure he ground game is better than it was when he was in Pride but Dos Santos would murder him.. He has a punchers chance but so does Kimbo.. Why not just give him the shot??

In recent days, fans have launched campaigns to push for everyone from Mark Hunt (8-7 MMA, 3-1 UFC) to Fedor Emelianenko (33-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC) to Fabricio Werdum (15-5-1 MMA, 3-2 UFC) to be the replacement. However, many considered Mir (16-5 MMA, 14-5 UFC), who's currently slated to fight ex-champ Cain Velasquez (9-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) on the UFC 146 main card, the leading candidate.

But UFC president Dana White seemed to discount that possibility in a recent tweet when responding to a fan.

"Mir vs. Cain will happen," he tweeted early this morning, suggesting he won't break up that matchup.

Perhaps the UFC could look in a different weight class. Henderson (29-8 MMA, 5-2 UFC), for example, "for sure" would take the fight if offered, he tweeted on Friday.

Henderson is on a 7-1 run that includes fights at middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight. The heavyweight win came over Emelianenko under the Strikeforce banner. Henderson scored a knockout win then signed with the UFC and topped light heavyweight Mauricio "Shogun" Rua in a "Fight of the Year" performance at UFC 139.

Henderson certainly has the marketability, and his recent credentials – including wins over then-Strikeforce champ Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante, Michael Bisping and Rich Franklin – speak for themselves. But even when fighting at heavyweight, Henderson weighed in at just 207 pounds. Dos Santos, by comparison, weighed 239 pounds for his title-clinching win over Velasquez in November.

Still, he may be a leading candidate. In a recent interview with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com), Hunt said he doesn't expect to get the fight, and Emelianenko – who was unlikely anyway because of a contentious relationship between the UFC and the fighter's management – has been announced for a June 21 event in Russia, possibly against Bobby Lashley.

Additionally, the other top-level heavyweights from the UFC 146 main card – Roy Nelson (16-7 MMA, 3-3 UFC) and Antonio Silva (16-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) – are coming off losses.

Damn. Hendo never even crossed my mind as a possible opponent. A part of me wants to see it, but a part of me would rather see him wait and take on the winner of Jones/Evans. That's a pretty big height and weight disadvantage too.

He's supposed to be working with Josh Barnett now, so that's a good thing. I'd love to see him take on Fedor. If he wins that, Dana would definitely have to consider bringing him in to the UFC.

Mir/Dos Santos & Silva/Velasquez. Not sure if they'd find somebody to fight Nelson or pull him from the card altogether, but this is the best way to go.
