Trying to work out what the things are around it for comparison. Is that a business card in the top right corner? Would make that plate pretty small and therefore likely to be a side plate.

That thing in the top right corner looks to be one those plates they put on gravesites or something. Or just a name plate for a person or a business, in which case, again, that would make what we see the center of the title.

If they add the shadowing to the title, it may not be so bad. I don't think they should put the logo on as the centerpiece... Just the letters would do fine The logo takes away from the cred to me...

Looks pretty ugly and it seems like all they really did was change "Champ" back into "Champion" using the same font and made it more square-ish than the rounder Cena title.

Also looks more like the design used for toy belts than an actual belt.

That has to be a side plate, just based on the horizontal vs vertical dimensions.

I wouldn't mind if the new belt was inspired by this design. A little golden to make it look more important.

I actually would like to see the belt revert back to the old championship. The Cena adapted belt was too........ Kidsy or gimmicky. Started with the spinner on it then stood still but still didn't change the look it didn't help it still looks kidsy.

That's what I've been thinking. I think it would be a bit wider and less blocky if it was the center, as well as the obvious that you stated. Of course we could all be wrong here, but I hope not.

Well, the Intercontinental Championship, Tag Team Titles and the Divas Championship don't have name plates, so maybe the WWE are phasing name plates out?

Also, on SmackDown last week, the WWE Championship had a blank name plate on it and not one with Punk's name.

As for the picture of the apparent design, I think it looks ok but it's nothing amazing. The only problem I have with it, if it is the actual centre plate, is that it's not flat and it still has diamonds in it.

Though I will be waiting until it's actually unveiled to have a proper opinion on it.

It's gotta be a side plate, for many reasons already posted.

I still have high hopes, but the fact that Punk publicly stated that he doesn't care for the design doesn't really bode well.

I'm fine with the "leaked" design. It's a clean looking championship. It says Champion. It's all it needs to be once it's colored and finished.

It's still gaudy looking though, if that is in fact the main plate. Who exactly does WWE hire to design these things? I mean, whoever designed the Tag Team Championship penny belts should've been black listed and never allowed to design so much as an 8-year old's birthday cake ever agayne.

What happened to the classy looking titles of old? The winged eagle belt, the Attitude Era championship belt and the Undisputed Title were all fucking beautiful.

I'd love to see a heel come in with the gimmick that he's a "wrestling traditionalist," and he carries around a championship belt from that era, and he refuses to defend it in anything other than 2/3 Falls Matches.

Basically take DLVH84, cross him with the Honky Tonk Man, and unleash him.
