There are 2 different cartoons. Both take place between episodes II and III, and both are awesome. The first is a more traditional cartoon, and is just a bunch of shorts. You can probably find both DVD volumes pretty cheap.

The current one is all computer animation, and is about to start it's 5th season.

I'm not certain, but I thought I read some where that the current one IS canon.

I would assume the older one is canon as well, since it leads directly into Episode III.

Ya but the Star Wars 'universe' has existed for a lot longer than that and been through things just as bad if not worse than 'the empire'. Also, it's not like robots didn't do most of the cleaning anyways.

My complaint was also partially the filming style, not just the clean look the sets had. In the originals, there was just a certain quality to the filming that made it all seem really natural and intimate. Everything looked too clean and contrived in the prequels.
