I've seen England play before, so you'd think I'd have tons of great players rolling off my tongue, except this was when we REALLY sucked. I think our best player was David Platt... I've just checked, Gascoigne was apparently playing so I guess it'll be him. I almost got the chance to see Jurgen Klinsmann in action too, but he chose that weekend to be injured, so I had to settle for Ginola.

NHL:
Steve Yzerman, Bret Hull, Joe Sakic, Sergei Federov, Mike Madano, Domink Hasek, etc (the Stars roster this year and 2 years ago plus the Avs roster this year and Wings of 2 years ago.)

MLB:
Nolan Ryan (several times), Cal Ripken Jr, Ken Griffey Jr

NFL:
Emmitt Smith, Aikman, etc (Cowboys from one of their Super Bowl years.)

If you gave that list to somebody around here (Texas) and asked them who was most famous, they'd tell you Nolan Ryan. However, I'm guessing it isn't as impressive to you guys eh?

Edit:
Oh and I forgot to mention Olympic gold medalists Brandon Slay and Kurt Angle (not at a WWE event, well I've seen him there too, but that's not what I meant!!).

I've been lucky, so I've seen a lot of "great players" and some "great games".

top 3 players...

Larry Bird
Michael Jordan
Cam Neely

top 3 games
this is tough, some kinda blur...
game 3, I think it was 3. Sox over A's last year that sent it back to Oakland.
Jordans first game back (it was at the garden) it was just electric. *
Pats v. Bills MNF it was the first MNF game in Foxboro in like 15years.

* - Part of the reason this game stands out, Ahmad Reshad and Bill Murry were a few rows in front and Murry was shaking hands on the way out triped and fell onto me. Also, I was on the isle, next to me was Bledsoe. People kept sneaking through security for an autograph, during a break I took my ticket stub, signed in "to drew, best wishes" or something like that and told him he'd given enough autographs he deserved to get one, laughed and thanked me and shook my hand. eventually he threw it on the ground, the really funny part was after he left, some guy came over and grabbed the stub and put it into a book, thinking it was bledsoes or something... I can't wait till 20yrs from now I see my autograph on a Celts ticket stub in some colectable store

Honerable mentions: Seeing Neely, also saw Bourque. Saw the celts teams of the early/mid 80's. Same w/ Red sox, saw Clemens v. Pedro, Saw the Pats upset Indy in Foxboro (I think it will Belichecks first season). Celtic playoff games last year, Red sox playoffs last years also saw the Pats game when Bledsoe got knocked out, and everyone panicked wanting to know why Huard wasn't in, and I told everyone around Brady would be fine...

Barry Bonds, pre-roids, back when he and Andy Van Slyke and Orlando Merced were the Pirates' outfield.

During batting practice, Van Slyke was putting on a show, catching balls behind his back and stuff. Of course, he was getting booed, 'cause we were in Cincy.

I saw Roger Clemens throw his 3000th strikeout, so that was pretty cool. There are lots of others, but I can't really think right now.

I saw Bruce Bowen from the Spurs this morning. I work close to the airport and they had just arrived and were leaving in their vehicles.

There were some others but it was too dark to get too much info.

Being a Chelsea season ticket holder you would think that there are loads of great people I have seen. Beckham is the most famous out of everyone I have seen, but nowhere near the best. Rivaldo, Henry, Gullit, Vialli and Zola are the best I have seen.

Lemieux, Jagr, Francis, Kovalev, Straka, Alfredsson, Hossa, Chara, etc... Sens basically and Pens when they played the Sens: Saw the Pens back in like 93 and a couple of years later and then again like two years ago.

As for Wrestlers well I met and talked with Bret Hart for like 10 minutes at a hockey game once.
