From what I've heard, Ricky Steamboat never turned heel. They sold him as a family man fighting against the party boy Ric Flair. I wonder what a heel run would look like though. A cocky HBK heel or a true blue Kurt Angle are likely examples but not a badass HHH type.

I think he may have once in ROH, as a heel authority figure. What's really crazy is if you consider his real name is as heelish as it gets: Richard Blood.

Now matter how many times it's been attempted in TNA and WCW, Heel Sting Just. Doesn't. Work.

I had a thought The Undertaker has always been gray in the alignment area outside of significant gimmick changes(biker taker and Ministry) at his core he's not really a good or bad guy.

Tbf, he did say that Taker had no alignment apart from the periods when he was clearly a face or a heel. So, pretty much always had an alignment, then.

It may be near impossible for a Muslim wrestler to debut as a face character, which is a shame since the foreign invading heel gimmick was stale even during the Attitude Era.
