I think basically the chunky little bald guy saw Ali vs. Inoki, Puder vs. Angle etc a few too many times and thought "hey, a worked shoot would be a great idea to get my match over" and proceeded to basically shit on the rest of the entire card by proclaiming his match was "real". And then had a match that was clearly a work. It served absolutely no purpose whatsoever other than to placate his chunky little ego I guess.
