Another of those goes live tomorrow, and it introduces Tower Control.

Available in Ranked Battle, Tower Control is defined by maps with one floating tower in the center. The objective is to hop on it -- ideally en force -- and ride it toward the opponent's base. Holding the tower takes you further into enemy territory -- closer to victory, but also closer to more people looking to splat you. Teamwork should prove necessary as it's pretty damn easy for the other side to tell when a single person is on the tower because, oh hey, look! It's moving again!

Tower Control will be added on July 1 at 7 pm Pacific. There's an early showing by Treehouse today at 3 pm Pacific on Nintendo's Twitch channel. Get ready to go paint the town.

Just played a bunch of matches where I was dominating... was on Underpass and some BROS were trying to backdoor our shit and I took them both out, and a Roller fucker was jumping in so I popped him too then reclaimed all our turf and then some.

Just went 8-1 in a game where I got a quad-kill on some bitches. Nerf Bubbler plz.

Went from using just a roller to swapping out between a roller and the NZap 89 (the orange zapper). Thinking of trying out a charger next, mainly for tower control.

Nintendo announces the major update for the game will be arriving on August 5th. Included are two new modes and the level cap getting bumped up from the current 20 to a new 50 limit.

Just dicked about a bit in the Splatfest. First time playing since the patch.

TEAM HOT DOG is good times. I went I think 8-2 or so tonight. Last match I had a game-changing play. Was on Moray Towers and a filthy Marshmallow scrub was using a bucket from high ground and sloshing the middle area... I had the wall below him inked from a previous incursion up that way, and waited for him to "reload" and swam right up to him and Splattershot him in the FACE. Then proceeded to ink all the way up to their spawn while my team Superjumped to me and we pinned them in. Was so money.

Think I went 5-0 on Moray Towers tonight. I don't really like the map but I do well on it. /shrug

How’s it work, you ask? As soon as the battle begins, grab onto that Rainmaker! It’s guarded by a shield, though, so you’ll need to bust it out first. Once you snag it, head for the other team’s base. And be quick about it!

If you run out of time or get splatted, the Rainmaker will be dropped and its shield will also reactivate. The Rainmaker is crazy heavy, so you can’t Super Jump while carrying it. Hopefully your teammates will watch your back!

But don’t think the Rainmaker is just some shiny object - it can shoot ink like an Inkzooka. You can even hold to charge the Rainmaker up for an extra-powerful shot! The closer you get to the enemy base while holding the Rainmaker, the lower your goal distance will drop. If you retreat too far while holding the Rainmaker, it’ll explode sooner! If the battle ends without anyone carrying the Rainmaker to the goal, the team with the lowest goal distance will win.

I kind of get that feeling as well. It's got a tremendous foundation but could use a few more of the "little things" to really push it over the top.
