I would rather go to wrestling school, get hired by a company in like 5-7 years THEN do a huge ass stupid dive or something from a high place AND get a big paycheck for doing so. Why hurt yourself in all that shit that could kill you when you're not getting paid.

Sure Foley did stuff like that when he was younger but the differance is he eventually learned how to wrestle properly. If you take a look at Foley's 2nd career match (on the new foley dvd) He couldn't put on a decent performce if his life depended on it. And I actually start laughing while I watched it cause I started thinking this guy eventually becomes the WWF Champion. But you can also see the difference between that match and his later matches that he did indeed learn to preform properly, and I'd say between 75 and 99 % that most of the people doing BYW will never make it...even as a top indy wrestler because they are not willing to learn the trait and wrestle safe.

I remember seeing an add on PPV for BYW and there was one match where the winner was the one who grabbed a GUN and shot the opponent...I mean WTF is that...thats not wrestling or entertainment...it stupid kids and its shit.

While most of us agree that it's stupid and barbaric, we have to remember one thing. There are also people who follow this. There are people who like it. When these kids do this shit, there are people that go and watch them. That's also very disturbing; that this actually entertains people. And that's what these kids want - attention.

I dont totally agree with this part of your statement. Every time you see BYW there is a few people actually there watching. My guess on all the BYW I've seen (and that's not much) I've only seen probably 10 - 15 people tops actually there watching it.

Yes, but that means people are watching it.

What the hell is your point??

There are similar negative comment smad ein the general media about people watching wrestling. Jesus, I'm pretty certain a third of the people who go to car races are there for the crashes.

Blaming the corwd or the parents is pointless. It's an individual decision. And if someone is stupid enough to risk their lives doing brainless stunts for the entertainment of a handful of yokels who have nothing better to do than watch teenagers kill themeselves, it's their own fault. Not the crowd. Not the TV. Not ECW. Not mick Foley. Not Mom & Pop.

When did personal responsibility become such a foreign concept?

I'm not blaming the crowd. I'm simply saying there are people who watch this, and they're just as twisted as the kids who do it. As for the parents, I do think they are partly responsible, especially if the wrestlers are young teens. Ultimately though, you're right, it's up to the individual. And the individuals who participate in hardcore backyward wrestling are being very stupid.
