To be fair, you didn't have to read the dirtsheets to know he was going to win. After the blatant rigging they did with Superstar of the year, it was pretty cut and dry.

Yes. I would have still strongly disliked the outcome. Not just in feeling that it's not Reigns' time, but also how they went about. Two lifetime, glorified jobbers cleared the ring, and essentially eliminated themselves. Wyatt had the best showing and got dumped unceremoniously.

It was all so anti climactic. Regardless of who won, it was booked poorly.

the writing was on the wall for weeks, they did everything they could to have big show get reigns over leading up to the rr. so you knew it was going to come down to rr and show. and JR and madden made a fantastic point on the podcast in that who would think for one single minute big show was ever gonna win, or kane.




that RR needed to come down to rr, db, orton, wyatt, sheamus, and ziggler for it to look good

Probably. But At least you don't have the entire second half of the rumble being met with boos, chats of bull shit, we want refunds, and Rusev, an anti American heel. The crowd could've at least been kept on the edge of their seat. It would have also helped create a built in match at Fast Lane for both guys.

I think another aspect of what made it all go to shit was of course philly crowds. some love em, but when a crowd hijacks a show you have no chance to put on the show you want. they boo who is a face, they cheer who is a heel, they are just stuck in 1997 dickbags who chant ec dub during a match in 2015 with not one competitior in the ring who has any history with ecw.


if you are going to get db out with purpose they could have done a fake injury angle which would have helped a ton, or have him eliminated behind someones back and screw him over ala bret in 97/98. then it sets him up for a match with ...someone.


right now the only part I shake my head at is....how does db get in a match at wm that he isn't the curtain jerker?

In order of most to least, the RR winners could have been Reigns, DB, Ziggler, Ambrose, Wyatt. Imagine how fucking amazing it would have been, and how the crowd would have reacted if the final three were DB, Reigns, and ZIggler, and they got like 5 minutes on their own with several near eliminations, only for Reigns to come out on top...

Instead, we got Kane and the BIg SHow, who we all know had no chance of winning, making Ziggler, Wyatt, and Ambrose look like complete chumps. Furthermore, the only reason Reigns got them eliminated was because they fucked up and fought each other... They didn't even make Reigns look strong, and they've spent the past several weeks trying to make him look strong.

The crowd was pissed about DB, but more pissed about how obvious and anti-climatic the Rumble match was.

Reigns winning could have been awesome. Instead they fucked it up and had two "old stars" basically make all the new guys look shitty.

So yeah, people need to get over DB not winning. It isn't the end of the world... But fuck did they miss an opportunity with that match.

There's a bunch of stuff they could have done to change it up.

Reigns could have dominated for a while before being overwhelmed by The Authority guys, take the heat, then come back WHAM-SMASH, Superman Punch, Spear, Powerbomb, he regains control and clears house by force. Instead of sitting in the corner for the most of the match.

You have him actually go through Bryan. A lot of the dislike for Reigns I feel is he hasn't "paid his dues". Have him actually eliminate DB. The crowd won't be happy about it but at least Reigns can point to the fact that he defeated Bryan. How many people did Reigns actually eliminate this year? Just looked it up, it was 6. Is that a winning performance?

Failing that, they should have established something for Bryan. He was eliminated by Bray Wyatt. That won't go anywhere. There won't be a feud or a Mania match. If they are going with Bryan/Ziggler @ Mania they should have set it up here. Bryan is being taken to task by The Authority, enter Ziggler to a thunderous ovation. The two team up to fight back, eliminate somebody from The Authority, Ziggler sets up to Superkick Kane, he moves, BAM! Ziggler catches Bryan, sending him to the floor. Bryan is distraught, Ziggler looks almost apologetic. You could have Ziggler eliminated here (by Kane) and have him and Bryan exchanging looks. Plant the seeds that this is going somewhere, assure the crowd that there is something Bryan outside of the title match. Do the same deal with Sheamus (replace Superkick with Brogue Kick) if that's the match they are going for @ Mania. You could even use this to switch Sheamus heel (Kane and Sheamus were in on it).

I think it's a given that the crowd would be pissed that Reigns won/Bryan didn't but there was so many things they could have done to make it an easier pill to swallow.

Or, like I said elsewhere, you hold off Bryan's return until after the Rumble and avoid most of this fiasco.

The fact that they didn't book Reigns as a force is baffling to me. He goes from absolutely dominating last year to barely scraping his way to a finish this year. I don't get it. If you're gonna endorse the guy, fine. But at least put him in a position to look great. Eliminating any or all of Ambrose, Bryan and Ziggler in the closing minutes of the match would've gone a long way.

This wasn't their fist time in Philly. They know the drill. It was something that should have been accounted for and it wasn't. How they didn't know this wasn't going to go over well there is pretty baffling to me.

In order of most to least, the RR winners could have been Reigns, DB, Ziggler, Ambrose, Wyatt. Imagine how fucking amazing it would have been, and how the crowd would have reacted if the final three were DB, Reigns, and ZIggler, and they got like 5 minutes on their own with several near eliminations, only for Reigns to come out on top...

Instead, we got Kane and the BIg SHow, who we all know had no chance of winning, making Ziggler, Wyatt, and Ambrose look like complete chumps. Furthermore, the only reason Reigns got them eliminated was because they fucked up and fought each other... They didn't even make Reigns look strong, and they've spent the past several weeks trying to make him look strong.

The crowd was pissed about DB, but more pissed about how obvious and anti-climatic the Rumble match was.

Reigns winning could have been awesome. Instead they fucked it up and had two "old stars" basically make all the new guys look shitty.

So yeah, people need to get over DB not winning. It isn't the end of the world... But fuck did they miss an opportunity with that match.
