The joke tweet earlier about NXT UK being down to just 4 guys after this is all done might end up being true with the way things are going since Gallagher worked there a few times.

Also can probably remove Tyler Bate from the list since his accusations mostly boil down to him trying to hook up with a random girl at a bar who already had a boyfriend. He tried to push his luck by asking for sex, got told off, and that was pretty much the end of that story.

I am guessing that one of the reasons a lot of this is coming out at this moment is a lead in from the recent accusations made against male tattoo artists in the UK, a guy I know had a few accusations against him and has been arrested. This led to further accusations and media interest.

According to Casey from Squared Circle Sirens, the stuff about Matt Riddle trying to file a restraining order might not be true.



Also another person has come forward alleging that Riddle was also manipulative towards her and cheating with her on the side.

Also AEW gave Jimmy Havoc indefinite time off from the company. AEW stated it was so he could deal with other issues on the side but also admitted to using the time to make an official decision on his future in the company. Wouldn't be surprised if the same happens to the other three who have been accused so far.
I don’t understand this logic. This guy seems like he’s saying because they were in a relationship that makes it less likely that Riddle would get a restraining order against her. The overwhelming majority of restraining orders are between former romantic partners.

This is the problem with people trying to flesh these accusations out on social media. Nobody knows what they’re talking about but they are always so confident they’re right.

Yeah, the more I see from people the more I lose faith in the legal system, honestly. It's got to be fucking difficult to find a reasonable jury.

Juries are generally ok. They get thoroughly vetted under oath by both sides and the judge before they’re chosen and can be kicked off for almost any reason. Then they get read instructions about how to deliberate that are crafted by the judge and the lawyers for both sides. It’s not a perfect system but it usually works pretty well.

I am much more concerned about bad actors and reactionaries who shape public opinion. Those people are dangerous.

One thing that will always bother me with the #MeToo stuff is this constant public outing of names by accusers before any charges have been filed.

Go and file charges before you log on to social media and start manipulating the public.

If the police somehow turn you away, fine, tell anyone that will listen.

The real Weinstein "effect" is that legally slander is now totally fine as long as it paints an abuser/victim scenario.

If it's as endemic as we all have heard then surely a better use of time would be for the accusers to make their individual complaints known to the law in a concerted effort to build a sound case.

Just making the accusation public one day is highly dubious, legally questionable and immensely prejudicial. I'd imagine cases can be won and lost on that sort of outburst.

That doesn't really matter as long as charges were filed or a complaint was made and recorded at some point.

Eh, I get what you're saying, but legal avenues can be difficult. Especially if you're a woman or a minority. White dudes don't like hearing it, because everybody likes to think they're hard done by, but it's the truth.

I agree that when legal options have expired, by all means go public and whatever if you truly believe what happened to and all that, but it's a fucking terrible situation that needs to be rectified over time with precedent, better systems and what have you.

More and more you start seeing "trends" with these sorts of things. Like, uploading the "notes" of your accusations as an aesthetic choice. Even AEW released their official press statement on a note. Wtf? It's like it's a stylised choice when discussing this sort of thing. There are lots of sociological curiosities that surround these issues. Including people who like to stand outside it and act smarmy (like a lot of people on these boards), or people that inherently take victims seriously (which I do). It could be dangerous when it becomes trendy to catalogue perceived sexual improprieties online, and that should be something researched, and it's something that will change over time.

Seems he's implying their relationship was a lot more cordial on Riddle's side than what Riddle's lawyer is claiming.

Plus he probably would have heard about issues with a restraining order earlier since he's very well connected to the women's indies and NXT scene, so if he feels something is off, it probably is. Also revealed he was in a similar past dating situation as Riddle's accuser claims.
