I don't deny the Pistons are a good team and they are the closest thing in the east that even compares to a team in the west, but the west is stacked with teams with all kinds of chemistry. The Pistons are good, I just don't think they are as great as last year. Last year they were scary. This year i can only compare them to the Trailblazers when they had all the talent and just teased us on getting to the championship. Good team, just not great. Pistons against anyone in the west, will lose in 6. If its the Spurs or I sure hope its not Phoenix, it will only go five.

Suns, Spurs, Denver, Mavs, and Houston. All the rest suck on both sides. You do realize East and West both have good teams now? It is not totally 1 sided anymore. |

OK you guys got me. The east and west are composed of good teams, all good in their own right. The east is more of a run and gun with the exception of the pistons which can do both fast pace and half court. The west teams can all play half court but the mavs and the suns can do both. Only thing about those 2 is neither one have d. Spurs disappointed me tonight but I did say Spurs in 6, meaning they would have to lose 2. Just wish it wouldn't have been the first one, and at home at that.

Honestly all you people picking Miami over Detroit are dead wrong. Detroit has a starting 5 and a 6th man. Miami has Shaq and Wade. Gee I think I'm going to take Detroit over Miami in 6 when it happens

Wadding have you looked at stats otherwise than what Sportscenter shows you. Tayshaun is not just a defender now but a scorer. And yeah Melo was taken a year after Tayshaun. Your thinking of Darko, dipshit. Tayshaun vs Melo anyday of the week, Tayshaun wins. And Rip. Rip? Rip hits big shots all the time. Wade and Shaq are going to be in for a rough ride when they make it to the ECF

I think what he was referring to is the fact that the reason the Pistons drafted Darko was because they already had Melo playing the 3. That was their justification on draft day.
And the Heat may only have two name players, but their secondary guys do an excellent job of playing their roles. Last year, the Pistons let Shaq get his and shut down everyone else on the Lakers. With as many shooters as the Heat have, I don't see that happening this year. It will be interesting to see who gets Billups, though, because right now Jones is playing the point and he would get ate up. |

First of all Splaya, they picked Darko instead of Melo because they already had Tayshaun, so stop calling DaveWadding a dipshit.
Second of all, the East is still inflated and you are stupid if you can't see that. On the surface it may look like the top of the East is as good as the top of the West, but its not, simply because the West has better teams 1-15. I will say that there were three teams in the West that were awful, those being New Orleans, Utah, and Portland. Besides that, every team in the West is competition, you can't write off the Clippers, Warriors, Lakers, Wolves, Grizzlies, Nuggets, anybody. Now you go over to the East, and instead of having three teams of nothing, they have three teams that are good, a few teams that can compete, and a bunch of shit. Atlanta, Charlotte, Milwaukee, Toronto, Orlando, Cleveland, even New Jersey and Philly can be included in there. You have to realize that if the Timberwolves or Lakers were in the Eastern Conference, they would be in the playoffs right now and Philadelphia and New Jersey wouldn't. It's harder competition, so a team with an identical record in the East and West, you can put money that the Western team is better. Finally, take a look at Miami's record. 59-23, their record against the Eastern Conference was 41-11, that means that when they faced Western Conference teams they were 18-12. OVER HALF OF THE HEATS LOSSES WERE TO WESTERN CONFERENCE TEAMS, AND THEY PLAYED 22 MORE GAMES AGAINST EASTERN TEAMS. It is rediculous and stupid for anybody to try to claim parity just because losing teams didn't make the playoffs. |

Nowthen I will go into my prediction. Honestly, I think that Detroit has a better overall team then Miami. These are the only two teams in the East with a legit post presence, one is the most dominant player in the league and one has two of the top defensive big men in the league.
I think that when it comes down to it, in the playoffs and under current conditions, the Pistons would win. I don't think Shaq is playing 100% right now and by the time they meet he could be in even worse condition, and even after that the Pistons just clog you up on defense. Regardless, I think a Western team will win in the end, but Detroit and Miami are the only teams in the East with a legit chance of winning while there are probably six in the West that do. |

Lol.
DaveWadding made a comment about the Pistons not taking Carmelo because they already had Tayshaun Prince, also a young small forward. Splaya midunderstood what Dave was saying and pointed out that the Pistons took Darko, not Tayshaun, instead of Carmelo. The Icon of Elism, PureHatred, and myself pointed out how he was misinformed. Both you and Splaya look retarded for not only being wrong, but being pompous and gay about it. |

Indiana matches up so horribly against Boston. That team is full of slashers and penatrators. We cant stop penatration at all . We get killed on offesive boards. I think we match up much better with Detroit or Miami.

And that look he gave after he hit the game winner....that "I just tore out your heart" scowl...priceless. ![]() I picked the mavs, and they are a better team than they were last year(despite what Kenny & Chuck said, they do play D) but Houston is executing in the clutch. I honestly think that Avery Johnson ( a great coach who was the one who got through to that team about playing defense) doesn't have enough experience in close games. They had problems getting the ball to Dirk down the stretch, why not change tactics and find Finley? Damn, I love the play-offs. |

There is no doubt that the Suns beat Memphis, unless things go drastically different the West will be represented by Houston or Phoenix.

Sac will beat Seattle but will fall soon after. And if they do somehow make it to the Western Conference finals The Suns (Who are going to win everything) will destroy them.

Just gotta say that Houston has been playing amazing in this series (about 20 times better than I expected) but anyone that thinks that they'll go to the finals is crazy. They don't have the front court depth to cover Amare and no matter how good Yao is playing right now, he doesn't have the conditioning to run up and down the floor for half a game.
I have to give respect to McGrady, the last two games he's played better than I've ever seen him play. I'd say its some of the best basketball I've ever seen (I'm still a relatively new fan of the league, only started watching in 2000 or so). |

Lotta people talking about how weak the Heat's bench was weak, looked very misinformed tonight.
They are role players who play their role perfectly. And Zo might go through kidneys the way Nelly goes through Cristal, but if he plays like that through the playoff, Pat Riley gets his parade in downtonw Miami this year. Everyone loves the Wallace boys, but not even they can hang with Shaq AND a frisky Zo. |
