They wanted to get Matt over as a huge face. They wanted to get Edge over as a major heel and they wanted to get Lita over as a skank slut ( because she is a diva you know). They are accomplishing all of this in one big angle. Its brilliant.

And let me say this....

If this isnt a work and they are just fueling the fire to be dicks. There idiots. True idiots that will have books and documentarys written and shot about how they were huge fucking idiots in not seeing the golden oppurtunity to do this storyline.

Its a fucking work and its great.

It's looking more and more like a work. Edge allowing Paul Heyman to say what he said at ONS, Matt's music playing on Raw. If he isn't coming back and they did that just for the sake of it, then it's really quite a low thing to do. But if this whole thing comes off, then I will take my hat off to the WWE.

BTW Edge gets X-Pac heat.

I saw a good point on the Matt Hardy message board. Someone said that they wouldn't be promoting someone who doesn't work for them this close to the end of their 90-day no compete clause. I mean, think about it. The WWE does this, and Matt shows up on the next TNA PPV. The WWE just gave TNA free promotion for (arguably) one of their biggest stars.

I wouldn't put it past Vince to send Matt a big 'fuck you', but I don't believe that the WWE would knowingly promote an outside talent who can potentially go to their biggest competitor, either.

Honestly with the way TNA is going...WHY would Matt want to go to TNA? Money with WWE...2 or 3 paydays a month with TNA. Sure he can work ROH as well, but he'd be better off going back to WWE.

I don't see what the WWE has to gain by doing this stuff if Matt Hardy isn't coming back. Besides from looking like the biggest bunch of dickheads on the planet, they would be promoting a talent who doesn't even work for them.

1) The Hardy thing is not a work. Yea, Matt still might come back after all this, but it was real from the start

2) I'm convinced the thing last night was just to see the reaction Matt Hardy would get if he came back. Would anybody care? Obviously they see people care.

3) Everyone can have there own opinions, but I don't see Edge getting X-pac heat at all. He may have during the first few weeks of his turn, but to me, it's legit now.

4) I bet Matt resigns by Summerslam

I don't think it is a work, but I think they're starting to play us now. I agree with LC, in that the playing of Matt Hardy's theme was to test the fans for "Mattstabators", and I think the WWE must be flipping the coin on whether or not the should fly Matt Hardy to Las Vegas for Vengeance.

How awesome would it be if during the Kane vs. Edge match, the referee is knocked down, and Edge is about to hit Kane with the Money in the Bank briefcase, when all of a sudden on the titantron the words "Matt Fact" appear. Then in typical Mat Hady fashion, the words "You Screwed Matt" appear under "Matt Fact", before "Now I Screw You" joins it. "Live for the Moment" then plays and out runs Hardy to cost Edge the match. Maybe even have him hit Kane when the match is done as well, just to highlight th epas they have together as well. I suppose you could have Matt Hardy serve as the Special Guest Referee, also.

The WWE has a chance to make a potential "megastar" out of Hardy here, so I hope they take it, because the WWE needs all the potential stars it can take.

Why all the sudden hate for Edge as a performer? The stuff he was doing in 2002 with Kurt Angle was top quality stuff. Why does everyone dislike him now? Edge can still go, and he has put on entertaining matches constantly since his return to RAW. Some have been head-and-shoulders above the rest, but I wouldn't say his other stuff has been awful.

The only downside to the character he's playing now is that it's more "RAAAAHHHH Edge" and less "Sodas Rule Edge". I think he should be trying to channel a little bit more of his less psychotic character, especially sinced he's got his destiny in his hands, in unscrewable fashion.

It's the character he's playing and the fact that he's using real life to garner heat that he's got so much hatered going towards him. That's all.

Yeah.

So if he was good at one point, we should still love him?

I'm sorry, but there's a reason he got booed more when he came back as a face than when he turned heel.

There's a reason that you had to go back to 2002 for an example. The same reason people can hate 2005 Hunter, while admitting 2000 Hunter was great.

Here's the bottom line: You're only really as good as your last promo. I liked Oldschool E&C as the retarded surfer guys. That doesn't mean the current shit Edge is doing entertains me. Apparently it wasn't that entertaining to others, because he got more heat as a face than as a heel, until he "screwed Matt" (or rather, til everyone found out about it).

What's wrong with Edge of late (Since his return) is simple: If you put forth goof product, more people will watch it. If you put out crap, less people will watch it.

Tons of the people I hate/bash/whatever are people I used to like, and appreciate for what they did in the past. Taker, Triple H, Hogan/Austin/insert boring fossil here, yes, Edge...

What's changed? This is consumer entertainment. Their job is to entertain us. It's like fast food, and we've gone from the whopper to the dollar menu.

I keep thinking I'm going to wake up and my entire life is a work. This whole situation is freaking...me...OUT. Seriously. What if the JBL / Blue Meanie thing is really a work, and Blue Meanie was hired by the WWE? What if he interferes in a big PPV match involving JBL? What if the WWE / WWF lawsuit was a work?! What if like, Vince McMahon's in the middle of a big speech, and suddenly the WWF's music hits and the Attitude era starts all over again?! Or imagine it's the middle of Wrestlemania XXIIIVK or whatever the hell the next one is. Batista's in the middle of the ring, having made a massive heel turn, choking some guy with a repelling line...and suddenly the Blue Blazer's theme music hits the P.A....

Alright, alright, I'll stop.

Heh, just thought of it, but this could also be a Vinnie Mac type of vengeance towards his wrestling fans on the net. We already know he doesn't like us, but he wants to make us feel foolish as well... Just a though though

He only looked good because he was wrestling Kurt Angle. Edge has had good matches, but lately I've been wondering if it's because those matches were against good workers like Eddie, Christian, Angle, Benoit, and so forth.

But he was entertaining. His strength wasn't exactly in the ring.

I'm not saying you should still like the guy, I'm just wondering why some people are acting like he's done nothing worthwhile in his career. Some act as if he is absolutely horrible in the ring, which I disagree with.

Edge's current character may not be as interesting as his last few, but you can see Edge is trying to channel as much of his entertaining persona as possible. I don't think it's fair to blame Edge for the direction his character is taking. The WWE want this semi-psychotic Edge, and it's a character Edge just can't make too interesting. He can play it alright, but he just can't seem to hold interest. Perhaps that's his fault, but I think it is equally the WWE's for not fitting a character Edge can be entertaining in (because he's shown us he can be entertaining) to him.

I'm not saying like the guy, I'm just asking why there is sudden hate for this man, and his abilities.

That's a good point. I've felt that as well. Edge has proven he is perfectly capable, but I think he makes a better follower in the ring than a leader. If you give him an opponent of Benoit's calibur, you get a Benoit-calibur match, but if you put him in the ring with someone below average in ring ability, Edge usually drops to those levels, too.

Edge is the perfect wrestling chameleon, so it makes sense he gets put with guys that can carry a solid tune in a match. Benoit, Eddie & Rey are on SD!, and Angle, Jericho, Christian & HBK are on RAW. That's probably why Edge makes a better supporting main event than a lead one.

His wrestling has always been sub-par. What made him entertaining was his mic skills and the people he was up against. And no, people suddenly bashing Edge doesn't mean they're denying he ever did anything worthwhile...No more than any other sentiment.

I don't think Edge was carried, I think he is just unable to carry. It takes two to have an excellent match. Edge has had his fair of excellent matches. Edge by himself may not be an A+ wrestler, but if you put him in the ring with one you would likely get A+ results.

So I wouldn't say Edge needs to be carried. I'd say he needs a good partner to dance with, though.

What you just wrote there is the textbook definition of being carried.

Look at it this way, some guys can't even be carried to a good match....

LOL, yeah I realised that, and I had trouble wording it. Basically what I meant is Edge doesn't NEED to be carried to a good match. He's capable of doing alright by himself. I would say "aided" is a better word to suit Edge. There are some guys who need a great opponent in the ring to have a solid match. And as you said, some can't even be carried to a good match.

It sort of reminds me of Randy Orton in a way. Talented enough to have a solid match, but needs someone on that "higher level" to really put on anything better (although he probably has more chance to improve).

Edge isn't a solid worker though.

Like Orton, he mostly got over on his Charisma. Now, with an unentertaining gimmick and boring delivery that's starting to make SNitsky look good, it may not be...His...FAULT!, but he's still not entertaining. And relying on his ring skills is about as good as relying on Goldberg's Mic skills
