yeah, i'd take Thibault over Khabibulin any time. Khabibulin is a great goalie, but only when he wants to be. He's the type of player that would sign with one team because their contract offer was 100,000 dollars higher, instead of showing some loyality or going to a better team. Thibault has never really been on a good team. Too much pressure with the habs, being the goalie that was traded for Roy and all, and Chicago hasnt been any good in years. Moog version 2.0?

great trade for the Oilers, they got Peca for cheap, York is good but Peca is awesome. The Oilers are going to be a kick ass team to watch this year.

KK, I think there's going to be another trade/signing. Lowe is looking for a first line centre and I heard Zhamnov's name being talked about. We only had Smyth for big bucks on our team so we have room for signing. Or we'll trade some of our younger talent which is sad to see, but it's nice to see our team building up once again.

As for goalies, I have no issues with the two we have - they're amazing. But I would love to see a big name come in.

As for the rest of the league, I like that the teams are going out there and grabbing players like Forsberg to Philly, Panthers getting a few and whatnot. This is going to be a great year to watch hockey...

yeah, peca is still the shit. doesnt get much better of a pickup than that. Isles are paying yashin what the could be paying for 2 other guys who would do more for the isles

I think Ant is going to need a change of panties. Ducks signed Niedermayer to a 4 year deals. 6.725 million. Ozolinsh and Nieds...thats some pretty talented offensive dmen.

Blackhawks pick up Martin Lapointe

Pengiuns got Andre Roy, they were after a tough guy, and had links to Domi. They made a better move here as Roy > Domi.

Everyone expected him to be delt now, but doesn't seem to be happening.

It was more to do with the press, he got pissy that when he didn't play great in the playoffs they wrote about it. It came out later that he was injured and no one knew.

Well, looks like they were right. I also find it intersting they seem to be spending top money on older guys, who only may have a few years if that, maybe they think a lot of teams are going to max their cap quick and be stuck with aging over salaried players and they'll be able to scoop up some young guys?

Still looking at season tickets, flipping between 2 season tix or 4 1/2 season tickets...

Chicago sends Eric Daze to Boston; the Bruins send Thornton to Toronto; Leafs send Belfour to Chicago. I say the line up will look more like this

Samsonov-Thornton-Murray
Axelsson-Zhamnov-Bergeron

The defence is too hard to call because they have one signed. Two if Moran plays defense. Add Raycroft on defense and it should be an alright year. Looks about the same as last year. Just new third line and Zhamnov for Nylander and Leetch for Gonchar.

Nah, Sully's gonna pair Isbister with the Joe/Muzz combo and try to make a Knuble out of him. There's no reason to waste Samsonov on that line when he can be doing amazing things with Zhammy and Bergeron.

I forgot Boyes too, replace him w/ Hilbert and send Andy back to Providence.

Thornton is going nowhere. Murray talks to him everyday and his signing is what will keep Joe locked up for the long term. We just need to get it official and then do the same for Sammy.

I wouldn't be shocked to see them move Bergeron to the first line if Thornton stays. The new rules makes the game way faster and Begeron has speed on Murray.

Yea but they're a one line wonder and thats comming from someone who loves Pittsburgh. I doubt they'll even make the playoffs. Same with the leafs, the way things are shaping up the Panthers have a friggin better chance to make the playoffs then the Leafs.
