It was definitely a hazing, although probably not the type of hazing done by JBL (i.e. the kind that makes you want to quit the company). I guess this is the RAW way of hazing.

Cena seems like a cool guy in real life (even if it's after he's had a few beers). LOL at them screaming "UMAGA!!!" Seems like one of those things you do with your friends when you're really hammered. It's probably an inside joke to them because of how fucking stupid the gimmick is.

Okay, for the mentally handicapped:

It's being called weak because the concept of getting hazed generally doesn't include the guy involved experiencing something that occurs in-ring, as part of the professional life.

A lot of the hazing tales that come out of WWE are horrendous, and this is pretty innocuous. Do chops hurt? You're fucking right. Is it something that that experience in-ring? You bet your sweet ass it is. Is it part of the actual job? Check again.

Is it, therefore, anything specifically potent in terms of "hazing?"

Fuck no.

Is it especially degrading, particularly painful (More than the act would be in the ring), and so on?

Once again, all signs point to fuck no.

So seriously. Shit down, shut up, and stop eating the lead paint.
