It's like they cut two seconds off the movie. I'm not even sure why...If they didn't want that to air, why release it in theaters? |

Yeah on the DVD he has his hand over the peice and it sort of shakes, it doesnt really move, its almost like its gonna move, you can see it starting then it cuts.
I never saw it at the movies so I cant compare. I really still think a sentinel storyline is the way to go, its less confusing and more clear cut than pushing onwards with a mutant vs. Mutant sort of thing. Maybe unite whats left of the brotherhood and the X-Men to fight a new president or something who has pushed them all underground with a reborn setinel program. This would be perfect to introduce a whole new set of Mutants to maybe split off and get back into the comic storylines at some point. That all said I'm pretty gutted there is no plans right now as X-Men is a real guilty pleasure movie of mine. I love them all. |

All I have to say is what I said to Lara a few months back.
The main problem with X-Men movies is they're trying to take an entire story arc and cram it into 2 hours or less. With the emergence of truly big budget TV as we're seeing now, we need to see a resurgance of the serial. This would greatly help out in terms of comic movies, because they could fill in the downtime between or replace them entirely. For those unfamiliar with the concept, it's how Batman and Superman first appeared. You would go into a theater and catch an installment of a serial. Often times, you'd catch several at once, but these serials were generally short. There would be a cliffhanger ending, and you'd have to show up next week. I'd like to see something similar in theaters, with runs similar to television. A big screen serial could be readily done these days, and it would keep people coming back. A 12-13 episode story arc, each element 30-60 minutes could really allow some depth to enter a story. This will especially benefit the comic geeks, who are the first ones to rip into a movie for things that are obviously edited/removed for time. I mean, even if everyone wasn't a mutant in X-Men (A concession of time), there's no way they'd give us the full phoenix story, because so much of the backstory needed to be eliminated for time. Large comic arcs like Phoenix/Dark Phoenix are already set up for this sort of transition, with built in cliffhangers. The comic book style lends itself well to the serial format as a result. It would also be easy to tie together movies that are seemingly disparate. You can even do it with smaller groups, and get less known actors. This will never happen, but.... Anyway, anyone consider that the main reason there are no plans right now for X-4 is that there are two spinoffs coming out? This is rhetorical, as I hope to God someone has actually thought of this besides me. |
