He would have had a better run in WWE, though I'm not sure he would have as impresive of a run in ECW. A lot of his ECW career was this cool idea of this short little son of a bitch who knew how to kick ass. If he had been bigger, I'm not sure the ECW fans would have cared as much, as they would have seen quite a few normal sized guys be hardcore. He was kind of the first total bad ass little dude.

What if...Chyna was born a woman???

TNN didn't fold...but I'll assume you meant to say what if ECW had gotten a miracle tv deal after their TNN ordeal...

To which I answer, it would have lived a bit longer, possible moving in to collect on what was the open market for former WCW only fans (there was enough that would have made the difference for the popularity of ECW if they had picked them up were WWE dropped them...). However after the initial little spike in popularity, I think they would have continued to lose money left and right and would have gone under. TNA would have had a much better opening due to a lot of ECW only guys would have hopped directly to TNA knowing they wern't over enough to be on WWE's level. The ECW/some WCW only guys really could have a bit more of a bang than if there wasn't that year or two of them doing nothing. By this point in time, everything would have more or less leveled out exactly like they have now...except, WWE would have just made Heat into a seperate brand...

Pending Shawn Michaels still going down after WM14, then you'd have Austin and Bret as your top names. But thats if the main event was still Austin, Michaels. It may have been Austin/Bret again, or Bret/Shawn rematch.
It'd be interesting to see if and how the attitude era would have taken off with Bret still the top guy, and how the careers of those who emerged would have went. Perhaps WWE may have never even gotten back on top.

Also, the McMahon on screen character was launched and defined by the MTL screwjob, so that would be taken out of the picture completely.

That premise is worthy of a thread all its own, as is the premise of a WWF invasion into WCW instead of the opposite.

He would have remember where he put his smile. which probally would have meant he wouldnt have held down so many guys and actually faced bret hart at mania 13 and dropped the title, thus again, messing up the possiblity of the impact of the attitude era since austins break out match would have not happened that night. Its mania, you know how rare it is that matches like austins with bret where you KNOW the new guy is something diffrent.


what if bishcoff never fired austin int he first place and used him correctly against or even in the NWO?

It's very rare and special when a wrestler loses the match but comes out the true victor, especially in a case where that wrestler is so eerily destined for stardom that you know you're seeing history.

as for your what if, It wouldn't have been the same but I'd like to think he'd become a break out star if the top names allowed for it and things would have been different. If Steve Austin was the attitude filled beer swilling draw that he was in WWF for WCW, they'd have won the war.

what if HHH had been deemed not worthy after his first shaky title run in 99 and sent back down to the midcard for good like so many have under him?

He likely continues in his shitty Blue Blazer gimmick, unfotunately. Shortly holds the IC title before returning back to the midcard until he retires or goes to WCW.
The optimist in me likes to think he'd finally get a major push in the late attitude era, but I doubt it. He'd probably retire happily with his family and maybe become an agent or something later down the road.

Then there would have been no HBK of the new generation, the new generation probally would have been even less noticed then it was before the attitude era. The NWO would have never came about, and WCW would have went under sooner most likely. Beacuse if they couldnt afford hogan, who could they afford technically speaking?

He would have retired, temporarly, for about 2 or 3 years. The WCW would probably still devise the nWo but it would have been headlined by Randy Savage, Sting, or they just would have made Nash the leader. In any of the three cases the nWo would have been almost, but not quite, as huge. However, the main event matches would have been better. The booking wouldn't have seen Hogan hogging the spot light for years and years.

When Hogan qould then return to the WWF sometime after Wrestlemania XII in which they'd probably rehash the Mega-Maniacs storyline, but this time with Shawn instead of Randy Savage. By the time the Wrestlemania 13 came around and time came that Michaels was supposed to drop the title to Hogan, Shawn would lose his smile just like he did, and the main event would have been Sid versus Hogan just like at Wrestlemania VIII.

Unfortunatly, this line of stories would have kept the WWF in better ratings and financial situation. The power struggle between Hogan and Michaels would eventually have lead to Michaels and Triple H jumping ship to the WCW and Bret Hart staying in the WWF. At Wrestlemania XIV Hogan would "pass the torch" to Austin but then totally bury his momentum. Hogan would then tire of wrestling in 2000 or so leaving the WWE in shambles as it no longer has young talent over talent to rely on and has to get by on a depushed Austin and an aging Bret Hart. Every time the WWE seemed to be on there feet running with new talent at this point, they'd panic and bring Hogan in for the rub, and Hogan would cancer the whole thing up. Just about now the WWE would be much the same as it is now but without all the fond memories from 1997 to 2002.

The WCW on the other hand with Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and X-Pac would have been dominated by the cliq for years to come. This would have made the WCW much more viable in the years to come as Michaels and Triple H would have put on fantastic dream matches with the likes of DDP, Sting, and Randy Savage who would have still been pushed solidly. Unfortunatly for a guys like Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero they would have had to waited until at least 2004 to crack the main event due to being held down in either WCW or WWE. WCW would still be alive, but would be much the same as WWE is now, however they're cruiserweight division would still be drooled over with guys like AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, and Chris Sabin, feuding with guys like Rey Mysterio, Shane Helms, and Eddie Guerrero.
