Screw that. They need people who know how to act like real stars. And real stars wreck the **** out of things.

Once again I hate Orton, I only want him fired because he sucks and this is at least an excuse. If it were Shawn Michaels, I'd love him for it.

I'm being honest. I hate him and I'd like him to be fired. It's not like I'm morally opposed to trashing a hotel room. I don't find his actions reprehensible or disgusting. I couldn't care less, it's actually pretty funny and I've done stupid shit before.

I just dislike Orton and find him boring and bland now, and constantly being a fuck up. And worse of all, being a fuck up that isn't overly important. I know it's a double standard, but I don't relly care. I don't buy "he's the future of the business" either. I once thought he was, and he was amazing...in 2003/2004. Since then he's been useless. How long can somebody be the future before the future arrives and they are realized for what they are, a missed boat and a falling star?

Randy Orton should become Captain Orton, a ship captain out at sea.

WWE can even report that he went MISSING on their overseas tour and then next week they show a promo that he has been spotted on his ship.

Eventually, he brings the boat (on wheels) over to Raw and attacks other superstars from his boat.

I think he can still be successful.

However, as long as WWE has a hardon for him, he will never become a legit superstar.

As for how long? Well, Cena's been held past his prime as a face, and they still gush over him. Batista, I think, is not too far from being a falling star either. He seems to be losing his reactions (Though I'm waiting on this one, because he's been up against Taker, so I expected him to lose SOME).

We'll see.

I agree. Orton had unlimited potential in 2004, just like Cena. However they've taken what were franchise assets and, pushed Orton to fast and pushed Cena too hard. Hopefully they learn from this, and look at history and how they pushed stars like Rock, Austin and Shawn and realize that slow and steady wins the race.
Hopefully some of the current up and comers won't fall into the "huge potential with a poorly executed push" category

No matter how slow and steady you push Orton and Cena, however, they will never be anywhere near good enough to lace Austin, Rock or HBK's boots.

It's just hard for someone like Orton to suddenly become new, interesting and have the momentum of a franchise star. He's already been world champion. They peaked him too soon and since he fell off sharply, he's now just another guy in the pile of main eventers.
When things aren't done right, that sticks with the star for good. Imagine if Austin had won the belt in early 97 for a month.

At least Cena was pushed correctly. He's just been overpushed, but his initial momentum and the timing and execution of his break into the main event were spot on.

Orton shouldn't have won that title shot at Summerslam. Once he did that, he was immediately at the top of the mountain, and it was too soon. To make matters worse, he was immediately buried, and worst of all he was changed to a face.
You shouldn't change what made him a fast rising star, even if he's getting cheered. When Austin and Rock were uppermidcard heels they began to get huge cheers just because they were entertaining. This led to their eventual and steady pushes to the top, but even though they were now booked as faces and played that role, they never actually changed.
Austin kept breaking rules, raising hell and being mean. Rock kept making fun of people, being a primadonna and acting like a dick. This is because that's what people loved about them, they cheered them for that and all you had to do was plug them into the babyface slot with their original 'heel" antics.

With Orton and Cena, you have guys that got over with the people and began to get huge reactions because of their behavior and antics as "heels". Then suddenly they're victims of their storyline, their classic good guys and become watered down kissing babies shaking hands and straying from what initially made people like them.

You know that, and I know that, but the bitch of the sitch is we ain't in charge.

You gotta remember, the writers that knew how to work guys like Austin, Rock, Angle and HHH -- they're gone now. We have Hollywood writers, and that's not the worst of it. As demonstrated with the sudden disappearance of "Double Double" Kozlov, Vince doesn't pay attention to the pushes. I don't know if he ever did, to be frank, but it's clear he's not watching very closely now.

I, myself, am a screenwriter. But the general Hollywood desire is to rehash the same story with new names and semi-fresh oneliners to disquise the fact that Adam Sanadler has made the same movie about 9 times. HoWo writers do what producers say, and the producers think they know what the audience wants before they churn it out. Hence, you cheer Cena's badassery, you get a classic hero to cheer. They don't understand that you like the Joker as much as the Dark Knight.

With vince's apparent blind eye cast upon the development process and a crew of writers who think everyone wants their hero to be the good guy, it's easy to see where the ruination of a coulda-been-great is conceived. What it boilis down to is that the WWE home team needs to huddle up and get their shit straight: let's worry about Orton's career, not spiting Lesnar's; let's see what Christian can bring to the scene, instead of shunning him for having charisma they can't channel; let's put out a good product, instead of putting out a product and calling it "right".

Don't get me wrong -- fuck Randy. He's a douche. But credit where it's due: this is everybody's mess.

I'd really like some actual fucking news on this instead of "Randy did something naughty to his room" and then "Oh this is serious but we still don't know exactly what he did or why it's serious."

Give us some real news or shut the hell up.

From WWE.com: WWE has taken action against Randy Orton for unprofessional conduct.

Vince: RANDY! Don't do it again! To shut up the internet geeks we're giving you 2 month paid vacation after Backlash.

It's just ODD.

I mean, Cena would have been the perfect "New Austin." They could have recycled it into Cena 3:16, the wigger thug who kicks ass, takes names, and don't take no sh*t from nobody.

Now, Orton wasn't quite as clear, but this formula seems so obvious. Cash in on the same idea. I mean, we know they are doing the whole "let's re-use ideas from our 'Blockbuster' periods" thing, but in an era of fans who were clammoring for the next Austin, they took someone who was a perfect match and made him the next Hogan, instead.

Now Orton, it doesn't matter. He's on a perpetual yoyo, because nobody likes him, but he's the "future" of the business. Hell get punished, and then Vince will decide "we can rebuild him...Better...Faster...Stronger!"

WWE's on a downward trend in terms of stocks. They have peaks, but they're getting slightly smaller. Now, people say ratings aren't everything, and claim illusory buyrates, but if the investors get worried, Vince might actually listen.

10 to 1, Orton had a 5* match with that Hotel room. He deserves a promotion if you ask me. Taker/Orton: WHC. Bank on it.

He probably had a couple of chicks in his room who like it rough. And he had to oblige them.
