Oh, and none fo the characters are well cast. I like Chikliss, but he really isn't good as Thing in my opinion, and the Thing part didn't take him into account.

Storm's perfect. He's shallow anyway.

Sue is a pair of tits.

And don't get me started on Mr Cardboard. But this IS a popcorn flick.

It felt like they didn't know what they wanted to do with the tone of the film. Johnny and Thing have always been semi-comedic foils to each other and the team, but it doesn't have to be the shallow chucklefest that it was.

Surfer was the major redeeming factor in this film. He was awesome. Looked good, sounded like a herald of destruction should, he was just well planned and executed.

Everything else...

Galactus was terrible. It's been said here before but I wanted in too, because wow, was I disappointed in Galactus (not to mention the ridiculously inexplicable final 'confrontation' between him/it and the Surfer). I was particularly bothered by one thing (minor spoilerage to follow). When they were in the forest, about to set up the beacon things to set off the pulse to knock Surfer off his board, Johnny hits Reed and there is a visible transfer of powers, but seconds later Johnny is using his flame power. They never resolved that power transfer.

Doom still wasn't Doom. Nothing against Julian McMahon, he just isn't right for it. And I, like KK, dislike the cast as the Fantastic Four. They seem ill-fitted. Dunno. Probably makes it a bit harder for me to 'get into it' or whatever.

Oh well. Third time's a charm, maybe?

Of course, the important part is that this is a plot vehicle for a SS movie.

Better than the first but that's not saying much butstill not better than the unreleased 1994 FF movie (whoch was a terrible movie in it's ownright) Alba has no business being Susan Storm, the blonde hair and what looks like CG blue eyes looks retarded. Ioan sucks as Mr Fantastic, McMahon is still a terrible Dr.Doom (Doom has been utterly neutered), I like Chiklis and Evans as Thing and Johhny tho.
