Except that he's not and he generally fails.
You can't really appeal to non-rap fans with rap, and he's not really doing anything that plenty of other rap artists aren't doing: talking about stupid shit while other peoples' music plays in the background. Eminem did it, Notorious did it... fuck, MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice did it. What he does is the definition of mainstream rap. That's how alot of rap gets mainstream is by tacking on shit that people who can't relate can actually relate to. I sure as fuck don't know many techno fans that got their jollies off on this song, though, and if this thread is any hint, people that don't like techno aren't too excited about it either. He's not reeling in any crowds that wouldn't normally be all over this shit, and even alot of mainstream rap fans are passing on this one. I haven't met any real fans of this that didn't come off as totally delusional.
