Apparently the MK characters will have fatalities whereas the DC characters will have finishing techniques in line with their character. Either way, I am looking forward to the day I can rip out Supermans heart; screw kryptonite Supes, you just got pwned by KANO.

Also, Nimbus Terrafaux is the greatest MK character ever.

No real suprises with the character models, hope in game they look as good as that. MK games have a habit of having character models that look very angular.

Still struggling to figure out how exactly superman will be pierced and dragged along by scorpions harpoon, i watched the ed boon interview and him talking about superman being vulnerable to magic etc. I really think it'll look odd though.

Further proof that scorpoion is a pussy when it comes to him and subzero being the best, they have literally given him a camal toe.

Though this will be a joke in the realm of fighters, it might just be the best fighting game in Midway's history. They're really trying with this one.

They had better fucking be after the shower of shit that was MK:Armageddon.

Within a good 2 hours of playing it, I was no longer suprised at why I purchased it for only £7.

no the renders thay have usually are never exactly the same as the characters they have in the game.

An example is that the scorpion renders for shaolin monks and armageddon were totally different. Theres usually small changes all the time too. Also with the new 3d games that they have had, the costumes have always changed a little bit with the different characters in the games and with this being on 360 and ps3 exclusively, it makes sense that they change the characters appearances around a bit. I personnally love it.

Yeah, but this is next gen tho. I can totally see that being used in-game.

And Gerard, what are you on about? Thats closer to his original look than it's ever been in years. I mean yeah, it would be nostalgic to have it as a hiddin costume, but it would be rather drab and boring compared to others. This is next gen, break out the details. Such as those killer Dragon insignias hes got.

One think about the ps2/xbox games, I love that they've visually separated all the ninja type guys.

As much as I bash MK's gameplay, I keep comin back for every game. It's because beyond the gameplay, MK has the most interesting mythology and characters of any fighting game series ever.

From character design, stage design, and the whole atmosphere of it all. It presents something really unique and different, that just pulls me in a lot better than other fighters.

That said, other fighters pull me in right away with their superb gameplay. Which MK is sorely lacking.

Just because its next gen doesnt mean theyre going to use the renders that the put up. Im not saying theyre for sure not going to use them but they have never stuck with a scorpion render 100% ever before so why would that change now. Its not like they dumb it down or anything, they just completely change it.

I also like how they separated all the ninjas and made them all look comletely different. Although reptile isnt really even a ninja anymore in deadly alliance, but they put him back in it in armageddon so who knows what they'll do with him. I was a little pissed with the next gen Rain though because he looked gay, and not like a ninja.

Well it suits his story a lot more than the ninja outfit. Wasn't his alternate outfit more ninja-y anyway? In fact, the only ones who still look like actual ninjas were scorpion, sub-zero, and noob, tbh. Cause they actually WERE ninjas. Kudos to them for using logic.

No your right, but i was having more of a complaint about how rain ended up looking. He is a price of edinia but he shouldnt look like the prince of san fransico. If thryre going to do that then just make him a ninja.

Plus the guys that are considered ninjas in MK are determined not only by how they look but the style they fight. So if theyre style is more ninja like they are considered one of them regardless of whether or not theyre story out right defines them as a ninja.

Seriously.

This is what I'm talking about. No matter how bad I get burned by gameplay of past games in the series, I still get uber excited about new games. Every thing else about these games is so great, that I can't help but get excited and pray that the gameplay steps up.

And to clarify, I'm not saying the gameplay is horrible. But as someone who is a fighting game enthusiast, gameplay is rather drab and boring compared to Tekken, VF, Soul Caliber, and even DOA.
