Number one, CoD4 is multiplatform. So in effect you somehow turned Seph's personal war into CoD4 vs Halo 3, which I refuse to ignite.

Being that there is an XB360 and a PS3 in our apartment, I would think that I can safely make an educated statement regarding which console I prefer. My personal preferences lie in factors XB360 excell in, namely online network (which I'd happily pay for), ease of use, affordability, and a wide feature set for my many moods (XBLA, Video Marketplace). This has made the XB360 in my household the most used console. To date, we have used the PS3 for Tekken DR and a number of PS2 games. Months ago. MGS4 will give it some life, but a single player game amongst guys usually doesn't last long. But as I said earlier, 2009 looks to be a good year for Sony and I look forward to it.

yes but I will only use the PS3 for GTA4 and COD4 I understand they are multi platform but I might was well get a free Blu Ray player with my purchase. Plus four year down the road I don't expect to be to into games but I know I will get urges to play online once in awhile this way I could pick up a controller and just play and not have to put down 50 bucks for it

I won't say either because FPS suck.

Hell, I'm not sure I even want to be in on this retarded little "Console war," but here goes:

  • Virtually every multiplatform game is superior. It's taken over a year to get one game where people say the PS3 version is the clear winner.
  • Development times: More complex hardware means more complex programming means longer development times, greater costs, and less developers.
  • Exclusive titles. Halo may blow, but there are a ton of hot titles that won't come to the PS3. MGS4 is really the first legit console seller.
  • Online play. I'm sorry, but even after the price, Live Gold>Any free service Sony could ever do.
  • Players. People own the 360, which is part of what makes online not suck.
  • Fast load times. installs suck on a console.
  • Microsoft's wireless controllers are pretty much the best in the business, and no Bluetooth. You didn't need to wait two years for vibration, either (though that's a minor point, and I haven't really MISSED rumble in any PS3 game I've played.)
  • Hitler was banned from Live. I'm pretty sure he's still playing Warhawk.
But I mean, honestly, whatever floats your boat. PS3's a pretty great multimedia system, and it plays games, too. Nobody who has bought a PS3 has out and out wasted their money unless the ONLY games they wanted are 360 exclusives or something to that effect. Sony made a reliable piece of hardware, but that doesn't make it a better gaming console. they made it technically superior (though they skimped out on the BD drive and the RAM).

However, if you want to ask why the 360's better, there's a lot in its favor. You know, like games.

I've only got GTA IV for my 360 and I probably won't buy another till around christmas. I'm waiting on SVR 2009, Saints Row 2 and Mercenaries 2.

As for the PS2 Disc Read Error...I've run into that with mine (It's 7 years old now), but it's only happened when I try to run a PS1 game. Other than that, I'm pleased with it.

I haven't used the Wii in quite some time. I have it sitting on top of my TV, so I know it's there...I just haven't been bothered with using it lately.

Haha nope, I didnt actually get a PS2 until a few weeks after GTA: SA was released, nonetheless I wouldnt have defended it, just cursed like a motherfucker.

Ironically, this was the very reason I got a 360. All of my friends around here have one, but only one of them has a PS3. He only got it to round out his goal of having every system from the 'Big 3'.

Honestly, this would be my goal as well. BUT, right now money is a big issue (Gas prices, Lot rent increase to $400 a month), so a PS3 isn't really feasible at this time.

Yeah, if all or most of my friends had PS3s, I'd probably be influenced. As it was, none of my friends were going next gen at that point, and even now, a lot of them are either on the the fence or have Wiis.
