Well I bought it anyways and.....it is greatness. The things you can pull off with the force are worth the price alone. The story is also impressive as it fills in the gaps between 3 and 4 and makes sense doing it. Loving this so far. Now to find that ultra sexy black light sabre crystal....

Only about 10 people at my store for midnight. Either the game length or reviews scared them away.

I'll be opening this up sometime today. But I'm juggling Yakuza 2 and Mercs 2 right now.

Meh.

The gameplay is okay, but not anything particularly special. All that hype about the new physics engine (which is impressive, don't get me wrong), but it's basically a half-assed God of War combined with a half-assed Psi Ops.

And it's probably just because I'm an original-Trilogy purist, but I absolutely hated the story. And the fact that it's getting declared canon by Lucas and KotOR didn't just makes me hate it even more.

Overall, it was worth renting, but I'm glad I didn't cough up the money to buy it.

Actually, I read somewhere that Kotor 1 and 2's Light side endings are canon. I'll have to look and see if I can find it again.

Yeah, the controls aren't as polished as god of war or devil may cry, and other similar action titles, but its not bad by any means, imo. Still mad fun.

Throwing wookies hundreds of feet off a cliff side never gets old.

I have to say, the story here is really good so far. Way better than I thought it would be. It definitely feels like star wars, and not like some random EU story. And the voice acting is perhaps the best I've ever heard in a game.

Just really cool and interesting characters, as well as some neat and unexpected plot twists.

Dude, black lightsabre for the fucking win. That shit is so sexy. Finished the game last night and am going back through again just to use the force in more imaginitive ways. So many incredible things you can do, only started to scratch some of the more amazing combos near the very end. For people who are far in the game, all I can say is STAR DESTROYER. OMG that shit was amazing.

Beat it.

I cannot say enough good things about the story, and how it's presented. The characters and their repoire with eachother are very reminicent of the original trilogy. I seriously enjoyed this story more than the first two prequel movies.

And again, Voicework is ridiculously good compared to other games. As are the facial animations.

After some of the reviews and responses, I wasn't sure I wanted to get this. Figured maybe I'd wait for it to come down in price or get it news.

So a friend of mine picked it up, and played the shit out of it. He brought it over so I could try it, and I am fucking hooked.

Yeah, personally, I think the reviews are a bit harsh. It has flaws, but I think it at least deserves an 8.0

I dunno, the hype around this game everyone was expecting something on a whole other level. And to be honest we got a God of War clone. A kick ass game no doubt, but it's got a ton of glitches and outside of the force grab mechanics doesn't really do anything new. I really dig this game, 7.0's is pretty fair.

I want a game that's more RPG-Y. I understand that this is telling a story, but I want a game where you can choose your appearance and fighting style and shit while doing some of the epic shit like throwing around TIE fighter wings.

The Duel Mode on the Wii is my new addiction. I need to unlock more Jedis. My brother and I threw each others around this afternoon for hours with our force powers. It's awesome.

I still havnt gotten around to play it. I Started the other day but turned it off when I realized Soul Calibur 4 was sitting on the table. Ive been playing that ever since.

September 30, 2008 - Can't get enough of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed? LucasArts has you covered. The latest addition to the Star Wars universe will see two rounds of downloadable content before the end of the year on Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network.

The first available download will feature additional costumes and character models for use in the single-player campaign, including Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ki-Adi-Mundi, and Kit Fisto. The second round, due later this year, will include a new single-player mission, set in the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant. The Secret Apprentice turns to the Jedi Temple to learn more about his father, and "while searching through the rubble of the destroyed building he must confront his inner demons," LucasArts said in a news release announcing the upcoming content.

The company hasn't announced pricing or timing yet for the two downloads.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed tells the story of Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice and has become a huge hit for LucasArts, selling more than 1.5 million copies worldwide in its first week on the market.
