But, until that day happens, you'll just have to photoshop the title around Val's waist.

Jericho himself was just generally awesome during this period. I don't know what it was about him (perhaps knowing that he was possibly the brightest spot on a confused product?), but he just shone in everything he did.

Another moment of WCW Jericho awesomeness: His ring introductions for a Battle Royal, or something, where the winner would face him. I think he did an intro for Chavo something like "from El Paso, Mexico!" I remember a line about Silver King winning a few more matches before being upgraded to Gold King.

Anyway, Dean Malenko won that much under hood, and Jericho freaked the fuck out, and the two had a match there and then. Did I get all that right?

I would rather see the Cruiserweights compete in the US Title division right now. WCW could book CW storylines and matches, WWE can't, and with their safe style, much of the time the matches are only so-so anyhow. Besides, the last thing they need right now is another title, especially when it would probably be the same four guys competing over every three weeks and you'd have a revolving door of two new guys a month who get wished the best of luck in a couple weeks for not getting over or sucking or not getting over for sucking.

Noid may be on to something. Rey Mysterio sure went nowhere with that Albatross of a title around. What? Bad example? Oh, right.

No, but seriously, Noid, you're trying to demonstrate a cause-effect relationship that isn't there, using superficial reasoning that smaller guys are being pushed now that it's not around. I mean, I can think of a few changes that might have lead to that sort of thing, not least of which is the Wellness Policy....

The CW title is not some Siren Lure, and nothing being done right now is anything that could not have been done with the title around. This looks like it's one of the trends of infrequent pushes. That almost certainly would have happened, one way or another, and it probably (note probably) won't last.

In short, with words I use with careful consideration, Fox is right. You can keep posting evidence that is both circumstantial and superficial, but that doesn't change a thing.

KK, there is never any real point in arguing with you, because you just argue for the sake of it, even when your argument is ironic as hell. Let me just throw Occam's razor at you, and call it a day.

It'd be nice to believe that the cruiserweights in the WWE could all get pushes while also concurrently (somehow) sustaining a division for the Cruiserweight Championship, but history is on my side. Using Eddie's bud as one of the very, very few examples in the WWE's history isn't going to cut it.

Gotta say my favorite cruiserweight moment was during the Jericho/Malenko fued, where after the cruiserweight battle royale, Dean pulled off the Cyclope mask to a monster ovation...tried to find the video on youtube, but it looks like it has been taken down.

The reality of the big picture is that Cruiserweight title around OR NOT, the pushes you've talked about could have happened anyways, with or without it being active in the company. Rey could have won the Royal Rumble while Jamie Noble fought Paul London for the CW Title further down the card. Just because WWE hasn't booked that way in the past doesn't mean they won't book that way in the future. To say otherwise is simple ignorance, and suggesting that keeping the cruiserweight title defunct is a good way to make sure these "smaller, deserving wrestlers" get a shot higher in the card is just illogical and narrow minded. If anything, that kind of thinking only deprives the WWE audience of the kind of undercard matches that have been posted in this very fucking thread, and the fact that the WWE has and had the talent to make those kinds of matches possible but didn't because there is no Cruiserweight Title for them to build stories around, is more than enough reason for me to want the cruiserweight title back.

And tomorrow John Cena could lose the World Heavyweight Title. It's not going to happen, though.

Rey did win the Royal Rumble when the Cruiserweight Title was around. I addressed that. Rey is one of the very few exceptions to the rule. Jamie Noble and Paul London were wrestling for the Cruiserweight Title, and those matches would have very rarely cracked the five-minute mark. As a tag team wrestler, Paul London got to do a lot more on SmackDown!. As a guy in the heavyweight division, Jamie Noble got to actually develop a personality.

Sure, the WWE could change their policies overnight, but history has proven that the Cruiserweight Title is very, very low on their priority list. It was so important to them they had Hornswoggle win the belt, and made one of its top contenders slip on marbles. It may not mean they'll never treat it seriously, but I'd say it's very indicative that they won't.

No, it's being realistic about these guys' chances in the WWE when slapped with the label "cruiserweight." I don't see how it is logical to assume that cruiserweights would suddenly be treated right in the WWE. And I don't see how it is illogical to attribute, in part, the lack of a small guy championship allowing small guys to mix it up with the bigger guys.

Notice they are all from WCW? They are all from fucking WCW. Also, you say that this kind of thinking would deprive the audience of fantastic cruiserweight matches? Do you see any fantastic cruiserweight matches on TV? No. Do you see a Cruiserweight Title on TV? No. The WWE doesn't give a shit.

I can understand that you want the Cruiserweight Title to come back so you can a match like Evan Bourne vs. The Brian Kendrick for it. Awesome. More power to you. I'd rather see those two face-off for either the ECW Championship or even the WWE Championship. Still a very unlikely scenario, but given where both men have been in 2008, it's not as unlikely as it would have been back when they were just Matt Sydal and Brian Kendrick.

If the WWE were to bring back the Cruiserweight belt, I could see them using it as a second belt on ECW.
