Hold on a second. I distinctly remember seeing a match in wich King Mabel had the necklace and was trying to control taker with it.

Maybe the first round of KotR 95? I think the necklace was around by then. I'm pretty sure Kama actually interfered later on in the match, but maybe he loaned the necklace to Mabel.
