I think it depends who the legend is. A loss to Austin wouldn't kill him, but a loss to Lawler or Snuka would be pretty bad.

The notion of a loss to Austin, one of the 3 biggest draws ever, hurting Jericho on Austin's grand WrestleMania weekend, is absurd. Jericho is pretty much hurt-proof in this situation

I completely agree. If they blow this on someone like Lawler, Jericho has to go over. I'm just assuming it's going to be someone worth a shit.

I'd be willing to bet that Lawler would have the better match out of everybody bar Austin though. And even that wouldn't be certain, depend on just how rusty Austin is. But yeah, Jericho would have to go over unless it's a fluke and Jericho gets his retribution match etc

I dunno, I still don't think losing to Lawler would hurt Jericho. Maybe if it was someone like Piper who can barely move in the ring, I could see Jericho HAVING to go over.

It wouldn't hurt him (that's beauty of angles like this), I just think having Lawler go over in the middle with his piledriver wouldn't make any sense and wouldn't happen. I mean, Lawler would def hit the piledriver for a big near fall but the only way he's winning is by a fluke or interference
In fact, anyway this works out, I think Austin will get involved somehow unless he's linked to another match in the buildup |

If Mickey Rourke is involved, there's no way Jericho is losing cleanly, regardless of who he faces.

I think Rourke is going to end up being involved in some way. They keep talking about him.

It just depends if you want Jericho to look like Wile E. Coyote or Anton Chigurh. |

Isn't Mickey Rourke's character in The Wrestler sort of a downer? I haven't seen the movie, but it doesn't seem like the character is after big triumphs; just little ones. Rourke could very easily just get a few good shots in on Jericho. Maybe even hit one or two big moves, and actually look like he could hang in there with the former five-time World Champion. Then Jericho kicks things up a notch, and BAM! Codebreaker finishes it. Afterwards, Jericho can show little hints of respect towards Rourke, only to complete blow him off, or something, for extra heat. |

Rourke with the Ram Jam for the 1-2-3 pinfall win. BTW, I wouldn't be shocked if they made the whole "his publicist wouldn't let him wrestle at WM" up as a work to try and throw the smarks off the trail.

I'm only going to say this half, nay a quarter, joking. Two on one, Chris Jericho versus The Winner Dustin Diamond and Dangerous Donny Bonaduce. Star power and guys with some experience.

Eddie Murphy had a very good chance at winning the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for Dreamgirls a few years back, but when he followed up that movie with Norbit, I think everyone with a brain assumed his chances of winning decreased by...a fucking shitload -- let's just say that. |
