I prefer Edge to Matt as a talent, but I have a hard time seeing how or why I would vote for him in this poll. How does one "side with Edge"?

I've got to side with Matt Hardy. You don't shag your best friend's woman. I mean, round these parts, you don't even do it if they break up. It's something that mates need to talk about, and Edge and Lita going behind Matt Hardy's back to do this shit was absolutely horrible of them to do.

Matt reacted as a human being would. Swallowing your pride is something that you can try and do at first, and I believe that Hardy actually did that. I believe the first thing heard about it was that Matt Hardy said he had broken up with Lita on his website, and that he told his fans to "ask her why." This was then linked to a story where two WWE Superstars were told to stop their affair, or something. Matt Hardy only really lost it after he was released, I believe, of which I am still not sure the reasons were. It may have just been the WWE putting Edge higher on the talent list, and considering Matt Hardy the more expendible of the two?

While I think Matt Hardy acted a bit like a teenager, sure, considering how young he was when he came into the WWE, and how this was his girlfriend of six years, I can understand how it could just leak out like that. That they can work professionally together shows something about their real maturity levels. Some good to be found in the stink Matt Hardy made, was that it actually did get him re-hired. If he had just swallowed his bit, he probably wouldn't be under contract right now.

It also made Matt Hardy one of the hottest face acts in 2005 (and someone I believe the WWE sorely missed the boat on), and Edge one of the biggest heel acts of 2005.

Well, Wikipedia says that Edge was married to Alana Morley from 2001 to 2004, and to Lisa Ortiz from 2004 to November 2005. So he went from banging Val Venis' sister to banging Ricky Ortiz' sister. And now he's married to Vickie Guerrero.

Seems like yesterday. Remember when he was on the 'indie scene' and everyone wanted to book him and then he turned up at a WWE event and attacked Edge with no commentary? A large propotyion of people who had supported him felt betrayed by him signing back up for WWE while others thought it was a legit attack.
