So THEORETICALLY SPEAKING, let's say McNabb goes back to his injury ways and goes down round about Week 6 and Vick comes in and hasn't lost a step, does a Jeff Garcia. McNabb has gotta be into his 30's now. Do you think the Eagles would ever trade him in that position and go with the younger Vick? Or do you think Vick would get a bumper deal somewhere else?

I dunno if any of you saw Hard Knocks this week, but basically there was a scene where the coaches were all sitting in a meeting with team owner Mike Brown. For the duration of the meeting, the coaches, including Marvin Lewis, sat there and listened as Mike Brown told them what he thought they should do with their players. Now I don't know about you, but that really really aggravates me. Mike Brown is telling his coaches how to do their jobs. That's fucked up.

Yeah I saw this. I thought it was obnoxious. I think you gotta let Marvin Lewis coach his team. Overbearing owners don't usually find a lot of success. Let the football minds coach the football aspect.

It pisses me off. Sure, injuries happen every year like this, but fuck. I get so mad when a guy goes down in practice. I was looking at the newspaper today and noticed the number of guys who don't practice because of nagging injuries (specifically for the Giants.) What the fuck are these guys doing in the offseason? I'm no trainer or doctor, but most of these injuries have got to be due to lack of conditioning.

Just researched. Apparently Jay Glazer just wrote an article about some "unnamed" Vikings players saying they still expect Favre to be with the team come opening day.

I don't buy it. Favre retired. If he comes back or makes an official statement saying "I'm still thinking about it" or something, then be pissed at him. Until then, be pissed at Jay Glazer for not letting the issue die.

Jamie Dukes of NFL Network has dropped a hint, Twitter style, that big news might soon be emerging from Broncos' camp.

Our guess is that the Broncos are either trading Brandon Marshall or taking some sort of action against him based on the perception that he's in some way embellishing an injury that has kept him out of action for most of camp.

It's also possible that they are signing Brett Favre.

We haven't asked Jay Glazer to make a prediction on that one.

The only thing about which we're reasonably certain at this point is that La Canfora had better get his ass in gear, because thanks to Dukes the fox hunt is on.

I want Favre to come back, would much rather watch him play than Sage Rosenfelt or whatever his name is. Remember when he got to play against the Colts last year when he was on the Texans? That was some of the worst quarterback play I've ever seen, handed the game to the Colts.

Marshall, who has been seeking a trade, already had trust issues with the Broncos, clashing over his contract (he would like an extension beyond the year remaining on his rookie deal) and the team’s treatment of his hip injury, and this incident only deepened that chasm, according to sources.
Marshall, 25, was accompanied by lawyer Harvey Steinberg at the face-to-face meeting with Ellis, and believes the “coaching” being done by the public relations staffer was in fact a directive from upper management, according to league sources. Broncos sources rebuffed that notion and attributed the incident to the public relations staffer being “overzealous” and acting on his own.
