I love Matt Striker. The guy genuinely wants to be there, and has found a niche that he can master. The guy is still relatively new behind the table, but he just adds so much more. He adds so much to the wrestlers' backstories and such. He knows how to perform while he's in the booth, too.
And that is essentially what you are hearing when you notice there is something different about Striker's commentary. He's not a straight announcer -- he brings a character to the table. He and Todd Grisham have fantastic commentary together, and I hope they don't get split-up again. When JR is ready to return, let him to go to ECW (or whatever the hell it is called), and work with Josh Mathews. I could see those two working well together. |

As long as the commentary teams are being discussed here, I just wanna say that I am thoroughly enjoying the work of Josh Matthews and Byron Saxton on ECW.

There's something about Saxton that just blends well. It's like, I know he's new, but he seems like he belongs and has been there for years. Dunno, he just makes things feel familiar to me.
