I think Backlund in 94 is the worst burial ever. Massive effort went into building his character, it got over, and everyone was loving his really top quality matches, and just squashed him with someone who really didn't need the title at that point as he was getting over anyway.

But unfortunately, when given a world class mat wrestler or a 7ft man....

Massively underrated is Bobby.

Cena/Miz was the worst of the past year I know that. When Cena calls Miz a nobody, then easily beats him was terrible. Luckily he has gotten back on a stride and is working his way back up.

Evan Bourne is another that has been buried. He was great when he debuted on ECW, even having a really competitive match against Matt Hardy on ppv. I even saw commercials of him being advertised as ECW champion. But he gets injured, then goes to RAW and essentially has accomplished nothing.

What made that even worse was how it also "buried" Chris Benoit's title reign and the special moment from the previous Wrestlemania of him and Eddie celebrating.

Orton's road to the title looked good even though Benoit wasn't pushed as the main wrestler on RAW and then his title reign which should have been special since it was his 1st gets cut before anything could occur.

MVP was buried pretty bad for a while during his time on RAW. He went from the big loosing streak to starting the rise to a future main event spot. Then gets drafted on RAW and keeps some momentum but eventually writers forget about him and his push starts to fall apart.
