In any investigative situation like this both sides are always going to prevent different perspectives on what happened and in almost every situation, both sides are fudging. The truth is nearly always somewhere in the middle.
Really going to come down to whatever third parties witnessed. |

Maybe with the sheer amount of time Punk is out with injury, enough time will pass for cooler heads to prevail, and everyone involved with this comes into agreement that when Punk returns there is an enormous money-making match staring everybody right in the face.
That is, of course, CM Punk vs. Colt Cabana in a Marcia Colton on a Pole Match. |

hahaha. I dunno. I'm doubting we see Punk again, whether from being fired or quitting.

Honestly, I wonder if AEW would be better off without the lot of them. No Bucks, No Kenny, No Punk. Bucks and Kenny are like a fucking albatross anyways because--if they're healthy--you always need to give them TV time. And nobody gives a shit about them outside of the base, and the base will like almost anyone you put in their positions.
That speech of Omega's (as it's being reported) shows he's an unfit locker room leader at the very least. |

I don't think that scenario can be ruled out at all. Right now, there are a billion conflicting reports out there but it feels like something where everything could be on the table.
From mediation that sees everyone sitting down/sorting things out (feels unlikely, but you never know, if it's this or lawyers the parties might all go for it) all the way up to everybody being let go. |

Kinda hilarious to imagine AEW without any of the original 4 EVPs though
Of the guys who were in the actual Elite stable when the company started, the only one left would be Hangman. I have no clue if he's still actually really tight with Omega and the Bucks but if those guys leave AEW he may very well choose to leave as well. Then MJF would have Tony even more by the balls than he already does. |

Nobody’s gonna get fired. Once Punk is healthy he should make his return and they should put the belt right back on him. I can’t see why TK wouldn’t.

I don’t know how I would go rehabbing a major injury to return to a place that bent me out of a shape like AEW did Punk. It sounds like a terrible place to be in.

Imagine being 43 years old and making $5 million dollars portraying a fake tough guy, even after publicly being exposed as the worst fighter in MMA history, and still being so bitter that you blow it all up.

Wondering if he knew he was badly injured after the match and was just like "fuck it I'm done" and decided to flip out on everyone on the way out

The theory that I've wondered about is I feel like they can't fire punk right now. Because even though he got hurt during the match, Punk is such an asshole that he would say the injury was further down during the fight backstage and then sue Tony for a boat load of money. |

Punk def concussed when he did that press conference. Give the guy a break, and a pay rise, and welcome him back with open arms.

The pressers are very dumb, especially if they aren't in kayfabe.....
As "dead" as that may be these days, they should still preserve it where possible. |

I like the idea of pressers and, as crazy as this might sound, Punk is one of the guys who knows how to do it right. He does well at not breaking kayfabe while not sounding odd. Unlike The Young Bucks talking to the media after one of the earlier shows and assuring them that a chair shot was safely done. Lol
There are also some reporters that know how to play the game while other dipshits ask questions like “Hey, Tony. Was there any thought of changing the script when you heard the crowd reaction?” There’s a way to toe the line and make these things beneficial to the actual product. |

Maybe..... but he sure fucking stepped in it with this latest one. Regardless of right or wrong, he looks insanely unprofessional who cries like a bitch the second he is forgotten about. They could've turned it into a work, but he was too butthurt about a SUUUUUPER passive comment. To me, if he wasn't actually guilty, he wouldn't have reacted like he did. Must've been a guilty conscience eating him up. |

I’m convinced The Elite are some of the most selfish performers in wrestling history. They ironically trumpet how selfless they are — but it is all about them. They’re threatened by someone coming in and actually potentially growing their business. It shatters the narrative that they are the best. They’re all about their egos and as long as TK is paying them, fuck it if AEW has an appeal to the most wrestling fans possible. And fuck its sustainability. |

The Elite’s bad comedy aside, there’s a reason it took them so long to get Punk in. They’re not comfortable with his star power relative to theirs (even if you don’t think Punk is a draw) or Punk’s influence. Pink represents a studious way of doing wrestling. He’s about psychology and watching Bret Hart tapes. Omega tells wrestling students to stop selling. There are camps swelling up around which way works best.

I don’t know how Tony can’t wear some of the blame himself. If he actually agrees with Punk, then why are they Vice Presidents? If he doesn’t, his regime just got mocked in front of the world. Being in the situation is tough, especially if you’re not media trained (you know, for your bullshit media scrum), but so much of this has been cultivated, if eben inadvertently, by Tony Khan.

I’ve seen people say that there’s probably a very good reason Colt shares a bank account with his mom, like she doesn’t have all her faculties. Don’t you guys have power-of-attorney over there?

We do, lots of people do that for their parents. Phil was implying that Colt is a loser because his mom has to run his finances, which is absurd also because lots of people also have financial advisers who control their finances. It was just a really weird flex from a guy who filed a restraining order on his own mother, because he himself is of sound mind.

Exactly, it's just an optics thing. With the way peoples minds work it'll be used to make fun of him no matter why he has the account with his mom. See CM Punk doing exactly that.
Besides it's just flat out nobodies business. |

My best friend has a joint account with his mom because he runs all of her finances for her because of her health and it was just easier to have her income go directly into an account he could access.

There are reasons for it, such if Colt was trying to hide assets for the lawsuit, but then it wouldn't make sense to put his name on the account. He might also not even be a co-owner of the account. He could be listed on his mom's account as Power of Attorney, which would give him full authority to act on her behalf over the account. He could also be listed as a beneficiary/Payable on Death, which would not give him any control of the account until his mother's passing.
None of that is either uncommon or implies what Phil is wanting it to, that it is a flaw of Colt's to be mocked. Phil is probably the kind of guy who has all sole owned accounts separate from his wife. If he doesn't have a proper will, his assets would be tied up in probate, which by the way is far more irresponsible for an adult than having a joint bank account with a trusted family member. |
