Yeah, but the thing is that TNA is looking to have good matches TODAY, beat WWE TODAY...they're not taking their time doing things, developing guys, etc...so even if they by some miracle actually someday BEAT WWE in ratings, it won't last long, because they are huffing and puffing their way to the top, while WWE is steady, and getting younger.

I actually can. Kofi Kingston now has issues with Nexus, and there is tonight's dark match that suggests smackdown might get into the storyline too. While faint at this point, I believe this is not over yet.

Yeah, I still don't get it. What the fuck was Taker asking Rey about if it turned out it was Kane who attacked him? Or if Kane didn't do it why did Taker try to kick his ass? This shit's confusing.

the other thing I didn't like about the match was they were playing up how "WWE had to be on the same page to have a CHANCE at beating Nexus" They were not on the same page, hell someone Interfered and they still won.

So yeah this sets up my prediction that Miz will lose the US Championship to Byran at NOC only for Miz to cash in his briefcase the very same night to become WWE Champion but I wonder if Orton will get a rematch.

Still, the ending was kinda frustrating. I wouldn't be bothered about Cena winning if it wasn't for that concrete DDT, Miz taking out Bryan and Edge & Jericho taking out Cena.

I know he overcomes the odds, but being taken out by 2 main eventers and getting dropped on your head on bare concrete does make it seem way too comic book.

Still, Raw tonight should be interesting. Really hoping that Nexus get their heat back somehow. Have a horrible feeling they'll be moved to Smackdown after failing though and I really, really want this angle to continue because it's probably been the best angle for a while and has kept me hooked.

I am honestly not bothered by Cena picking up the win tonight. I have kind of grown numb to John "Superman" Cena, and don't really care enough to react to how he is booked anymore.

The 2 things that bothered me were The Miz interference, and the lack of retaliation from The Nexus.

The Miz interfering in the match was perfect. I thought it was a smart way to get him some additional heat, by screwing over the WWE team for his own selfish reasons without aligning with The Nexus. But with Cena winning, it kind of negated the impact that he had on the match. Granted it adds more fuel to the eventual Bryan/Miz program that they are looking to get in to relatively soon, but I think more would have come of his interference had he directly cost Team WWE the match.

My other problem was the fact that we got the typical Cena standing tall moment after the match. This is the first time in this whole Nexus storyline that they appear vulnerable. They just lost their biggest match since this whole invasion began. Don't you think it would have made sense that they would have been pretty pissed off about losing, and would have wanted to wreak havoc to end out the show. Just a little something that lets the crowd know that "Hey we lost the battle, but the war isn't over!" kind of thing.

I don't know, just seems like if they are to continue with this storyline the prime opportunity for The Nexus to seek some retribution would have been right after the match.

i think something that has been over looked besides the poorly written ending, is how well some of the nexus members looked. Sheffield eliminated both Morrison and Truth within 1 minute of one another. Slater eliminated both Jericho and Edge within a minute of one another. They did a very good job of presenting those 2 who have occasionally been overlooked (slater more then sheffield).

I would expect distruction by nexus during whatever the main event is tonight. come out beat up everyone in sight, destroy the ring again and tell the WWE "this is far from over"

So to start off I'm sad to say I missed the event live last night & I sorely missed the chats. Anyways I watched it first thing this morning in high quality.

The build to Summerslam was equally weak as last years. The Nexus match was done fabulously but the rest of the card really doesn't shock or impress me. I'm not sure what to expect but with a weak card I assume there will be some shocking surprises. So here we go.........



INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH
Dolph Ziggler (c) vs Kofi Kingston

I have missed Smackers the last 2 weeks so I was unaware of his title win and any build. Still love watching Dolph wrestle. So the action is under way and the match is slow. Not really loving it. I like a fast paced opener (I think TNA has spoiled me in that department with the X Div guys) and this is just like any other Friday night match up. Nothing special here. Not good and not bad....The finish was good though. With the stacked WWE Team giving the Nexus some additional face time early on in the program will help make the match more believable later on tonight. Still though it was kind of a waste. Hopefully this gets better........

WWE DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Melina vs The Black Diva (c)

This match was awful from start to finish. The LayCool bit at the end was miserable and her "big boot" to Melina's head was NOWHERE near a connected hit. These women make me a sad panda.

3 ON 1 HANDICAP MATCH
Big Show vs Straight Edge Society

With the odds stacked against Big Show and with the way SES have been the bumbling brat pack of Friday nights I already had my mind made up that Big Show was going over here. I do love this face version of Big Show even though he has absolutely zero character. He just is goofy, smiley and waves to the fans a bunch. Oh well I likes what I likes. The match is good. Not BIG 4 PPV good but all in all it serviced the storyline and the action was as good as to be expected. No surprise at the finish and I'm guessing were about to see the SES implode.

I GIVE THIS MATCH 5 BOTTLES OF JR'S BBQ SAUCE OUT OF 10.



WWE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Sheamus (c) vs Randy "The Viper" Orton

No storyline here. Just Randy the number one contender getting a title match. Again, lame for a supposed BIG 4 PPV. That has been the theme with Summerslam the last few years, sadly. Anyways, I still loved this match. It was nothing I will remember in a month but now the ball is rolling to develop a much needed storyline with the DQ finish. I really enjoyed the action throughout the match and was better than I anticipated. Go me!

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Kane (c) vs Rey Mysterio, Jr.

When did they drop the Jr. from his name anyways? Ok, so here is a match with great build. Kane has been a stellar champion in my opinion and have loved watching him go all demented on everyones asses. Still sad that Swagger was NOWHERE to be seen at this BIG 4 PPV. Anyways, even with good build I'm not at all interested in seeing Rey Jr. wrestle Kane. I have seen this match a million times. The ending was no surprise and sorta confusing. I got the gist but it didn't translate well on TV and could have been better. Average match that really didn't do much for me.

I GIVE THIS MATCH 5 BOTTLES OF JR'S BBQ SAUCE OUT OF 10.



7 ON 7 ELIMINATION TAG TEAM MATCH
The Nexus vs Team WWE

O.M.G. I marked out for Danielson. I am not a big mark of his but it was definitely the surprise shocker of the night that I was needing. This match was booked very well. I am loving the action and the eliminations. Especially the Jericho/Edge eliminations. I honestly was starting to think that with Cena having a hand in their eliminations and the fact that he didn't enter the match until the very end that we were about to see a big heel turn. I guess that was wishful thinking. It wouldn't have made a lick of sense to align him with Nexus but still.... Anyways, Danielson was hot towards the end and really made it believable. The DDT on the arena floor followed by Cena "Hulking Up" to get the win...I don't like that one bit. Yes we have all come to expect it but it still stings when it happens. I will say this for Cena, nobody can no sell moves like him. Take that as a backhanded compliment. Anyways, great last match. Very fun. Lame finish.

IN CONCLUSION:

Another Summerslam has came and went and it still doesn't feel like the biggest party of the summer. I am miffed as to why stopped building great feuds for this show. It used to be one of the best nights of the year and anymore I can say that it has been notoriously underwritten and under booked. Not enough matches on this show. Not enough "summer party feel" and especially not enough build. The matches were ok to good but this is unfortunately yet another summer throw away PPV. The best 1 on 1 match of the night ended up in DQ.....The big summer PPV should be the conclusion to a major feud and NOT the start of it. Sorry to say.

And now on to the awards ceremony.

Oh yeah, this can be saved and I'm hoping it will be. Just ended a pretty hot main event on a flat note.

Either Nexus expands to give Cena yet more odds to overcome or anything else they do won't look like a threat anymore.
