I put it around ep 7. The Purple Wedding around ep 4. Gotta give Tyrion time to build pathos while he's arrested/Cersei time to be Cersei. I'd put The Battle of Castle Black in episode 9. Closer in tone to Blackwater than the Rains of Castamere or Baelor. Tywin will bite it in 9 or 10. Season ends with the reveal of Lady Stoneheart. Book it.

‘Game of Thrones’ showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have been telling the press there’s an endpoint coming for the hit HBO series. They told EW that seven seasons “is the plan,” which makes the about-to-begin season 4 the midpoint of the series.

To figure out how to end the series, though, they need to know how the books end, and there are still two more volumes of George R.R. Martin’s seven-volume series to be published. Martin confirmed that he could give them the “broad strokes” of what’s coming, but that “details aren’t there yet.”

Remember, A Feast For Crows and A Dance of Dragons happen at the same time. And based on casting for this season, They're gonna at least open up some storylines that don't happen this soon in the books.

I think they started with some of the book 4 and 5 things this season. You can combine those two books into one season since they don't have a lot of overlapping characters.

But really, I don't think the age thing will matter in the show. All the children/kids started off older in the TV show than they did in the book anyhows.
