Anyone starting to think Rockstar may have bitten off more than they can chew with this is. I mean if it all works it'll be the 2nd best game ever and all ( behind the CM series ) but I've a bad feeling about it.

They aren't bitting off more then they can chew. They have had to move to a whole other CD format because it was too much for the regular discs. If they did that and weren't putting all this in they would be stupid. And they are not stupid.

      They didn't cut anything off there...it's Wang Cars.  lol that gets me every time.   This has been brought up before Vice City but with all these new RPG style elements I think it's a greater chance then ever that you may have to pay for gas. Not saying this is because they probably would have announced that already as it would be a big change in the gameplay but still...anyways more pictures...    Skaters hang out.

hey in the pic after the Cluckin' bell one theres a shop called Hippy Shopper.I'm not sure about anywhere else but we have Happy Shopper here.Possibly another pointless little easter egg for Dundonians.

Gamespot says that the voice of Sweet sounds like Ice Cube in the trailer and Ryder sounds like Charlie Murphy...I can hear Ice Cube but I'm having a hard time picturing Murphy. Anyone else hear it? |

This needed a bump and the voice actor was announced the other day. By the voice actor I mean the voice of Young Maylay who will be playing Carl Johnson aka the main character.

The way the territories work has been released now. There will be different color shades on the map defining the different territories. When you go to one you'll need to fire a few shots and get the gang angry in order to take it over. When that happens the map area will flash red and there will be swarms of gang members that go to attack you. Defending is the same.
You can go up to people with the OGP green outfit on and press R1 to target them and up or down on the D-pad to recruit them to your gang. Well to follow you and everything. If they accept there's an icon that appears and you can press R1 and left, right, or up on the D-pad to have them attack, follow, or defend. |

I probably won't be buying this one.
I -may-, that is -MAY-, rent it, but I'm uncertain. I love the GTA series..Don't get me wrong. But I feel like they're being disloyal changing from a Mafia format to a "Gangster" format. I'm sure that the games are still mostly Mafia-ish, but I don't know..It's a personal thing. I just feel like the series is getting crapped on by changing what's worked so well. I guess Tommy Vercetti gets old after some time, though. October, November, December, and January seem to be hot months for games...GTA: SA, Halo 2 (HELL YES.), Inuyasha (Again with a major HELL YES.), Smackdown Vs. Raw, Inuyasha, Budokai 3, Resident Evil, Metroid Prime 2 (I think?)..Looks very promising. |

Big update. I suggest you read this.
* R* reckon that it takes 100 hours to complete the main story missions. * Cop helicopter fly around the cities, searching for criminals even when you havent got any stars. * Kung fu, boxing street fighting can all be learnt, once you have learnt them you can use them and mix and match between them. * Possibility of hot dog R3 missions! * The Gant bridge is SO big that the weather can be different on both ends. * you have 360 degree camera control. The faster you go the less rotation is allowed - eg. go fast and you can only look left and right. * Los Santos property costs a lot of money. * You can drive a combine harvester into the city. * No 2 buildings are the same (with the exception of a selection of houses in estates which would look the same in real life). * CJ can vault over ledges one handed. * The bulldozer will be steered by the rear wheels rather than the front. * The riding lawnmower is the slowest vehicle in the game. * Along with the already-confirmed katana, the golf club makes a return, too. * The BMX and mountain bike are different in that the mountain bike has gears that are chosen automatically. Manual gear shifting is not yet confirmed. * Just as you could stop criminals from running from the cops in Vice City and get $50, you can do the same except with putting out fires in San Andreas. The money reward amount is not confirmed. * One animation improvement is that Carl will not only change his stance with each new weapon, but he will also change stances with the same weapon as his skills increase with that particular weapon. * One of the ways that aircraft are more improved in San Andreas is that the crop duster can preform maneuvers such as barrel rolls, hammerheads and loops. * Carl automatically targets enemies heads when he is at the correct range. * The first place you find the desert eagle and the shovel is in the desert. * Characters will respond to noise (gunshots, explosions) more realistically. * Carl can lock onto anyone in the game (even if he isn't holding a weapon). * Some of the time, you will be able to block (depends on the weapon that Carl is holding). * Fires will play a bigger role than you might think. Through explosions from cars, grenades or even molotov cocktails, you could set fire to a huge portion of the map. This includes buildings, countryside and more. This can be used to your advantage, of course. * You will be able to fire at enemies when backing up on your motorcycle or bike. * A plow is in the game and Carl can use it to smash through buildings, flip cars and cause chaos all over San Andreas. * There are several environmental objects that you will be able to destroy: milk crates, chain-linked and barb-wire fences, several types of plants, couches, chairs, other furniture and etc. |

That's probably the stupidest thing I've heard in this thread. You are debating evening playing it because the game is gang related. GTA3 was gang related as you had to join pretty much every one in the game and Vice City is more gang then mafia. What mafia was even in Vice City? The main group was a gang.
Go play Mafia if you want that as your whole theme but when everyone else is playing San Andreas for over 100 hours just for the missions, I doubt anyone will remember you even cared about such a petty detail. |

Tommy was in Vice City because of the mafia and they came down there to kill him, but other than that (so everything in the middle) it was all gangs.
