Punks take obviously is Cabana is living on his moms dime. Thing is no matter what the context Punk gloated about going after Cabanas mom to settle the dispute. Thats just the kind of guy he is.

Well Punk’s take is that he DIDN’T go after her. Colt went after him and then when they discovered his finances were tied up with his mother, that’s when it all ended.

Must be a weird American thing. Over here, children have their own bank accounts when they’re school age. Doesn’t make sense to me when you could just have power of attorney and manage the separate account. It’s way more confusing for things to be in one account too. And that doesn’t explain why Colt was trying to hide it. Why drop it against Punk because of that?

I’d feel a little sorry for Colt Cabana, provided he is not a piece of shit. He sounds like a bit of a manipulator. He’s a casualty of The Elite trying to use him to sabotage Punk. He probably could have quashed it. But maybe he believed it?

It ended because Cabana ended it when punk and his team went to drag Cabanas mother into the middle of it. Punk didnt call off his own lawyers; by punks own admission. Punk DID go after her and it made Cubana, the plaintiff, rescind his case.

Cabana went after Punk then Punk launched a counter suit. I wouldn’t call that going after the dude’s mom.

Maybe I’m misremembering the shoot (seriously), but I got the impression Cabana wanted to drop it and Punk obviously did when the stuff with Colt’s mom came up in discovery. I don’t think he had any venom towards her, except dropping her name as an indicator “Hey, this is the truth.”

I’m probably defending the guy too much, but I’m definitely leaning towards his side of the story when it comes to him vs. The Elite. But we’ll see what else shakes out.

It had been believed for some time that there had been a personal falling out between the two over the course of the Amann lawsuit. Based on the correspondence included in the lawsuit, that certainly appears to have been the case.

Cabana claims in the lawsuit that he was later told by Punk's attorney that he would continue to represent Cabana, even if Cabana wasn't paying the fees, as long there "is no conflict between you and Phil that prevents me from morally and ethically representing you."

Cabana retained Loeb & Loeb until March 2017, when he claimed that he was forced to hire his own representation. In the lawsuit, Cabana stated he was "informed and believed" that Punk caused Loeb & Loeb to withdraw as Cabana's attorney.

After their courtroom victory over Amann's lawsuit, Cabana's attorneys approached Punk, seeking payment of $200,000, the cost of Cabana's legal fees post-Loeb & Loeb. Punk turned that overture down, leading to Cabana's claim of breach of contract.

Cabana is also claiming that had he not listened to Punk and just responded to the original cease and desist letter, he would not have dealt with any "costs, expenses or losses" in regard to the Amann case.
