Which makes the whole Blood Elf thing even more stupid. I guess the Horde need their 'pretty' race though to lure some of the bnet kiddies over from Alliance to balance out the server pops though
The thing about the trolls and elves hatred was part of my thought process but I forgot to add it in when I was typing up.

Another plothole that I haven't seen or heard anyone else mention is the Blood Elf and Undead connection. The Blood Elf society and population was almost completely destroyed by the Undead. Granted it was the Scourge and not the Forsaken but do you really think the Blood Elves would split hairs like that and be all, "Well, we know it wasn't you guys who killed off our family and friends, so we can be buds now." ? Hell, no!

The more and more I think about a third faction for the expansion seems like whole lot better idea than just forcing the Blood Elves onto the Horde. And before you PvP guys get your panties in a bunch saying that, "A third faction wouldn't work because of battle grounds!" How about they create new battle grounds for the third faction to play against the Alliance in this one (maybe the Blood Elves prison break) and they can play against the Horde in this other one?

That all being said, I am excited abou the expansion, if not a bit skeptical. I'm afraid that raising the cap may bring a few imbalances to the game. I hope this doesn't totally trivialize current end-game content (can you say 10-man MC pug?). Also, the whole deal with the talent points and whatnot. Blizzard has clearly stated a number of times that Hero Classes are a long ways away, so that's out of the question. I'm thinking they're going to totally re-do the talents or something, or maybe space out the talent points so that you still remain with 51 talent points. I dunno. I'm probably over-worrying, because Blizzard I'm sure knows what they're doing. Expansion's not due for a while yet anyway so I'm sure everything will be made clear by the time it arrives

Blizzcon was awesome, I'm so glad I got to go. The expansion was pretty fun to play, all that was available was some premade Blood Elves and some epic-filled level 60s for the new Silithus instance, but the time limit on the computers made it hard to get much accomplished in either. I'm so excited I get to be in the beta though. ! Also got my murloc pet

On another note, we downed Hakkar last night for our first time. We havent been trying ZG as much because we are more focused on BWL right now.

My dude also has a Bloodfang Helm and a gutgore ripper, just currently not using them because my perdition's is better and the NS helm is better for pvp.

I was a knight, but I havent pvp'd in a long time, dropped to damn sergeant...need to get me rank back up!

Thanks, I have played him for a looonnngg time. I barely lost the dkp bid on the belt, but with the last patch's upgrade in boe drops in MC, we get about 6-7 random items a night, and one night we got 12. The thing that sucked about it was that out of the 12, 5 of them were belt's of might lol....every warrior we have including a few alts have their belt of might. We have sold 2 of them to other guilds, the first for 1800g and the other for 1600g.

Yea AV has some great items in it. I want to get my warrior alt to 60 so I can pick up a few things. I also still want Don Julio's with my rogue, so I think I am going to start picking up where I left off a month ago.

Its going to be awesome if they are still going to try and do server vs server battlegrounds, if we could all play AV somehow, that would be amazing.

Yeah I would love to play BG with you all, haha. The thing that sucks about AV rep is there isnt much there for staff using mages, it's good for the off hand items but meh.

I want that staff from Exhalted in Arathi Basin though, damn.

Yeah thinking about it, would have been a lot cooler to roll a third faction completely seperate from alliance and horde for the blood elves to be in

Agreed, I think a neutral faction would be kinda cool. You could go in Alliance or Horde cities if you get enough reputation.

That does sound cool. I was actually thinking of a new "evil" faction. Alliance is suppose to be the "good guys" and the Horde is now moving away from their evil ways so they're kind of more along the lines of the "misunderstood good guys". So I was thinking since there is no good "bad guy" faction in WoW (good luck trying to come up with 4 - 5 races for a Scourge faction) I thought the faction that seemed to be forming in Frozen Throne was the best bet. You take two races that are lusting for power (Blood Elves and Naga) who are following Demonic instructions, plus the Draenai who are loyal to the Naga and BE's for liberating them from their oppressors, and combine them with another race that shares in their lust for power and worships demons, the Satyrs, and you've got a pretty decent faction. And if you want to add a fifth race add the Ogres since the Horde has turned their back on them and the Alliance would never accept them, they could join up with new faction since they too desire power and have always had a tie to the arcane through out WC lore.

That's just my ideas, though.

What does everybody think the likliehood of a second expansion pack is? Keep in mind this is Blizzard and their track record shows that do one expansion pack per game and then that's it. However, MMO's generally require more upkeep then normal games and traditionally have multiple expansions (i.e. Everquest). Just wondering if its possible we may get more content and classes down the line.

The difference is that EQ has Alternate advancement.. similar to talent points, but there are a lot more. The level cap hasn't been raised with every EQ expansion. There has simply been more content and more AA's added. And yes it's true that with a higher lvl cap you can do the earlier raids a lot easier. It's the same way in EQ. You can do a 10 man veeshan raid, where-as that used to take 40 people.

Think of it this way.. if WoW increased the cap again and put in new stuff, by the time you hit the new cap, that old stuff is going to be crap for you so doing those instances will be pointless for you, and you'll be focusing on the new ones a lot more.

Then again, if you think grinding instances is bad you've obviously never PLAYED EQ. As much as I liked the game, doing a mandatory raid 20 times and not getting a single piece of loot for yourself sucked. If there were high end guilds in WoW that had strict requirements like in EQ, you'd have all quit the game by now unless you were actually a hardcore enough player to meet the requirements.. (hell, there may be a few guilds in WoW that require lvl 60 and a certain set of gear to join, but I never saw any on my server) That, and there is a lot less customization in WoW, so there can't really BE that many requirements.

Regardless of what content is added, paying for a shitload of expansions sucks serious balls. Blizzard has so far been able to add several highend dungeons without charging us any extra money (Dire Maul, Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, Zul'Gurub) and the expansion so far has at least 8 new ones planned, including the Caverns of Time which could be updated regularly.

So I guess what I'm saying is I hope that if Blizzard decides to release several expansions they are full of things more then some extra skill points and a new dungeon.

I think Blizz has done pretty well honestly. The expansion is adding some good content... I know I was probably the first to bitch about it but I just kind of had some real high expections for it, so when it didn't hit on everything I wanted I felt let down. But looking over the expansion a second time they are offering a pretty good expansion.

I'd rather they bring out the server/account transfers right now instead of the expansion, I'm sick of my server, and I'm REALLY sick of paying for 3 accounts.

Technically, Blizz just unlocked things which already should have been in game... in case nobody followed their progress during beta. MC and such.. Onyxia, Ragnaros.. those were mobs/instances that should have been in at release.

Two of them were being used by friends. The 60 mage is the only account I've used full time. I only keep the 60 druid alive to help my friends in raids and whatnot. And like I said, resource farming on the other (mooncloth, etc.)

Kinda screwed myself tonight. Sorcerous Dagger dropped and nobody was gonna take so they were gonna DE so I just bid on it. It's not bad by any means, but I pretty much have no chance of getting Azuresong now -_-

Yeah it's a fine dagger and all so I'm not really complaining. I don't care all that much about PvP anyway so it's not like I direly need Azure. I'm sure after a few months other people will get it and I'll catch up in DKP and get one or something. Whatevvvvvvvvvv mang

I've just been given a 10 day trial, so can someone explain what the hell the main purpose of the game is?

You create your own character and improve it. You can pick from 8 different races, (4 on each faction), and there are 9 total classes you can pick from. Not every class is available for each race. Basically you pick a character and either kill things, do quests, or go through specific areas with groups, (called instances.)

lol was in AV with Bacon and the server went to shit. Was funny 'cause the server did eventually stabilize and we were the only 2 Alliance in. Of course the BG closed due to lack of numbers, but it was hot being in a virtually empty AV.

In other news, I'm probably getting my Spell Power enchant on my dagger within the week (whenever smellipants transmutes me those essences of air). Hai ooooooo

hot cloak

downed Majordomo for the first time in MC last night, so that's 9 out of the 10 MC bosses i've seen killed now

he dropped the fireproof cloak and cauterizing band (both of which i want )and the eye of divinity

it's getting ROFL how much felheart is dropping, in the first half of the MC run I won the pants, then the boots and shoulders dropped and two other locks won. Wish i'd have held out for the shoulders tho

Still, 4 out of 8 pieces and i'm next in the queue for the next piece that drops, so i'll be 5/8 hopefully this weekend.
